Psycho Surgeons - Horizontal Action 7″
January 7th, 2006 at 2:28 pm
This is a re-post from September the 27th 2006. In case you’re interested I have a spare copy of this up for sale at eBay:
There aren’t many bad punk records coming from the land down under the period 1977-1979. Psycho Surgeons is just one of many aussie records that have made record collectors go mad in their search for an original copy. The cover is nicely painted with real cow blood.
So think about it! What is the next step for your little obscure punk band looking to release a 7″? Hedgehog blood on the sleeve of course. “Horizontal Action” is the most comped song from this one but “Wild Weekend” is just as great.
Country: Australia
Year: 1978

Best record ever! I actually hadn’t heard the B/side until it was issued on an Aussie 2xCD comp a few years ago, called Do The Pop! There’s some duds on it, iirc, but also a lot of really good stuff too!

Yeah most of the Aussie stuff is brilliant! Dosen’t seem that there any of the blogs that’ve posted the first Victims 7″ eh?

Yeah Do the pop is great!
Probably not as punk at the murder punk comps but great all the same.
Savage by the fun things is another classic

I would kill to have been in Austrailia in the late 70s! So many classics like this one.

I would have loved to be in Paris in the 1780’s!

Cow’s blood? WTF? My favorite gimmick is still the sandpaper on the Feederz LP. Didn’t it say to file it between your Beatles records???
