Lama - Valiaikainen E.P. 7″

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

lama_valiaikainen.jpgOn a boat over to Finland I once learned to say:”Hey all finnish people. Let’s bring out your knifes.”. I thought that was a good idea to say on stage when playing with an old band in Helsingfors. It turned out they didn’t understand a shit. Well here’s another great record with our old favourites Lama. Not as great as the former Lama post but close. Especially Anarkomarko.

Travolta Kids - Veckans brott E.P. 7″

Monday, May 29th, 2006

travolta_brott.jpgOne of the five first swedish punk rock records I bought. I remember thinking that it was strange I liked it so much since it was quiet slow and not that raw. It was the attitude in there that I loved. I can still hear it and I still love it. Travolta Kids also appeard at the swedish comp. Bakverk 80 with bands like KSMB, Incest Brothers etc. Later Travolta Kids stuff is really bad but this and the tracks on the comp. still appeals to me.

Stry & Stripparna - Malmo City E.P. 7″

Monday, May 29th, 2006

stry_malmocity.jpgStry Terrarie is back! This time with his ego trip Stry & Stripparna. Raw, obnoxious and great produced swedish punk rock. In the same vein as Kriminella Gitarrer so you know it’s fantastic. Vietnam is a slow and very boring track.

Yard Trauma - Eyes E.P. 7″

Monday, May 29th, 2006

yardtrauma.jpgThe only great track I’ve heard with Yard Trauma is Eyes. And that is a killer one! Traumatized on the flip is decent. Luckily it’s short enough to be posted here. If you’re not like me and want to know more about them then read here: Yard Trauma. Pruduced by Brett Gurewitz from Bad Religion.

Black Randy & The Metro Squad - Trouble… E.P. 7″

Monday, May 29th, 2006

blackrandy_cup.jpgIf you haven’t read “We Got The Neutron Bomb” yet you have too! All these crazy storys about Black Randy is priceless. One of his party tricks was to take a dump in the girls purses. When they went into the toilet there sometimes where some of them screaming as they where combing their hair(taken from the purse of course) and seconds later found out they’ve got pooped. The Metro Squad included K.K. from The Screamers and John Doe from X among others. Easilly an underrated artist among the Dangerhouse bands. Highlight: Loner With A Boner
Country: USA
Year: 1977
Label: Dangerhouse
Format: 7″
Songs:
Trouble At The Cup.mp3
Loner With A Boner.mp3
Sperm Bank Baby.mp3

Government Issue - Boycott Stabb E.P. 12″

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

gi_boycottstab.jpgIt’s a miracle the vinyl still holds togheter. One of my top 10 US Hardcore records ever. One weak spot: Sheer Terror. John Stabb deserves as much credits as Ian McKay. To fuck with the “real” punks he dresed up in hippy shirts and the likes. That IS punk rock. Buy all the reissues from Dr. Strange cause they deserve it!

Country: USA
Year: 1983
Label: Fountain Of Youth / Dischord
Format: 12″
Songs:
Hall Of Fame.mp3
Hour Of 1.mp3
G.I.mp3

The Visitors - Take It Or Leave It 7″

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

visitors_take.jpgTake It Or Leave It is a great punk/powerpop stomper but the b-side oh my! It’s just so bad and a badly hidden rip off of the soul/reggae classic where they’re singing “you can make it if you really want it.” or something like that. What’s the title of that song? Somewhere in the back of my head Cliff Richard pops up.

Country: Scothland
Year: 1978
Label: NRG
Format: 7″
Songs:
Take It Or Leave It.mp3
No Compromise

V2 - Speed Freak E.P. 7″

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

v2.jpgA band from the Manchester punk scene along with the Fall , Buzzcocks and Warsaw and containing ex members of the Nosebleeds and Panik.“. Excellent 7inch with two good tracks on the a-side and an awesome one on the flip. Hear they’re still around. I gave a 7inch they released in the ’90s a spin and it was terrible.

Country: UK
Year: 1978
Label: 1978
Format: 7″
Songs:
Speed Freak.mp3
Nothing To Do.mp3
That’s It.mp3
