New Models - Permanent Vacation 7″

newmodels_permanent.jpgProduced by Ric Ocasek from The Cars. And according to a post here:”Casey from New Models played guitar in Slapshot for a brief time.” From Boston. “The New Models caught their first big break when they attracted the attention of the Cars’ David Robinson, who asked them to open for the Cars at their 1980 Boston Garden concert. A series of favorable reviews was followed by circulation of a tape produced by Ric Ocasek at his newly opened Synchro Sound Studio. The tape, consisting of the tunes “Permanent Vacation” and -”Shattered Windows,” became a local hit, but, in absence of any vinyl product, interest in the band soon died out.” From Rob Noxious(lewdsnot, zoloft_anaconda) trade theft and therefore I have no sleeve.

A fantastic track — it makes me proud to be a Bostonian.

    Thanks for sharing!

Sister of Casey here and yes, he did a few Slappy shows. There was another piece of vinyl, a 12″ w/ 5 songs. They came close to getting signed and were huge for a while, last show at the Channel in 1985. Curtis from Taang just picked that track to play while on my show yesterday.
