Why Are We Here? comp. 7″

May 23rd, 2006 at 12:29 pm

whyarewe_cover.jpgOne of the greatest 7inch compilations ever made. People rave about C.O.C. on this comp but what makes it standout are the incredible tracks by Stillborn Christians! So original, catchy and just…just fucking awesome! “Originally a cassette which included tracks by No Rock Stars, replaced by Stillborn Christians on the 7″“. Anyone heard the No Rock Stars songs? Feel free to fill in any information about the bands on this comp!

  4. The Flakes // Drummer Says:

Hej Johan! I’ll take this in swenglish ;). I have the Big City comp. Long time since I gave it a spin. Can’t remember that I liked it that much. I’ll see if I’ll post it later on. Hälsa Motala från Linköping.

  5. Johan Says:

    Hi the flakes.
I don’t know if it was you that I talked to on “helgon” so I’ll take it again. The reason I wanna hear it because I used to work with one of the guys from the betrayd (who I belive is on there?). He had a wok restaurant here in motala called Wok n’ roll. really nice guy with all the right attitude. So we made noodles and chopped weggies and listen to punkrock… Well he played me some of the later betrayed stuff wich is more Rock n’ roll… We’ll he told me the earlier stuff was more hardcore so I’m curious…

  6. The Flakes // Drummer Says:

Hi Johan! Yes it was me at “helgon” aka kukfittan. Betrayed is not on there. Here’s the list of bands: Ultra Violence, Armed Citizens, The Unjust and No Control.

  7. Johan Says:

strange… well it says so here: http://homepages.nyu.edu/~cch223/comps/bigcity.html

  8. Johan Says:

aha you have: big city: don’t want no pitty

  9. The Flakes // Drummer Says:

ahh sorry Johan that I wasn’t more alert :).

  10. Johan Says:

No problem… It turned out that you’re not the only one who wasn’t alert. I search my old computer and found some mp3:s with the betrayed. And I remember that I actually borrowed his old real 2 real tape (the original recordings for the songs on that comp, and the other one they where on) and recorded it to mp3. The sound wasnt to good and on the first track I only got one chanel so you can’t hear the guitar.
    But it’s pretty good :)

  11. The Flakes // Drummer Says:

that would be cool to hear!

  12. Johan Says:

I’ll see what I can do… first I gotta get them to this computer (that’s the hard part)… then I’ll post them on our website so you can d/l em :)

  13. The Flakes // Drummer Says:

    Sounds great :).

  14. Johan Says:

    Ok… It wen’t pretty smoth
Five songs I only know the titles of 3 but they’re still pretty good…
you can find ‘em on http://www.garbagedump.se/betrayed

  15. Johan Says:

No problem… just tell me when you downloaded them o I can erase them from the website…

  16. The Flakes // Drummer Says:

Done! Thanks alot Johan! And they sound great. Is he still around in Motala and why did he move to HELL?

  17. Johan Says:

    Your welcome..
He got married to a swedish girl…
He lives in stockholm and are doing suishi, ha ha.
I found some info about The Beatrayed here: http://www.geocities.com/namataysaingay/1984.html
(hard to find anything about ‘em)

He talked about putting togheter a swedish version of the betrayed but I don’t know what happen. But I geuss wouldn’t play the hardcore stuff.

  18. Version Sound Says:

Being that this is an old post, no one will probabl;y ever read this, but the No Core cassette and 7″ we two completely seperate releases. The 7″ was not a re-release of the cassette, it was a different comp with different tracks.

  19. roman Says:

hey, didn´t listen to this comp yet, but i´ve heard most bands on the “no core” comp, and they are soo fucking great! especially no labels, where reed and woody from coc used to play! no rock stars are also great - a bit more of a uk punk influence.. great raw angry hc! thanks for the great site! especially for brulbajz, and die kreuzen 7inches - the first one is a pleasant surprise from a band i never heard of, and kreuzen are just great! much better than on master tape vol. 1! thanks again, man!

  20. version sound Says:

This E.P. is not a re-release of the “No Core” cassette in any way, shape or form. I used to have both and there is no overlap, as far as tracks go. This EP came out a year or two later and can more properly be considered a follow-up to the cassette.

  21. The Flakes // Drummer Says:

Yepp that we know and the No Core tape have been posted here too.

  22. oi66 Says:

anybody has listened more ‘bloodmobile’ songs over that compilation. i heard them maybe 15 or more:) years ago on old tape and then it was my fave songs. If anybody has something please describe me. thanks
