V2 - Speed Freak E.P. 7″

“A band from the Manchester punk scene along with the Fall , Buzzcocks and Warsaw and containing ex members of the Nosebleeds and Panik.“. Excellent 7inch with two good tracks on the a-side and an awesome one on the flip. Hear they’re still around. I gave a 7inch they released in the ’90s a spin and it was terrible.

V2’s “Man in the Box” is a million times better.
It was released as a 12″ - recorded LOUD & distorted as hell. It was very popular on San Francisco punk radio in 1978, which is where I heard it (& buying at Rather Ripped).

Nah that wasn’t so good Michael. Our taste differs.

Yes, tastes do differ - reminds my of what Radio Birdman were doing around the same time.

Not bad but they’ve totally lifted the riff from KISS’s song Black Diamond…

Is it just me or does ‘Man in the Box’ sound just like ‘Strutter’ by KISS?
