Regulations - Survive In The City E.P. 7″
June 28th, 2006 at 4:10 am
This gives me almost the same kick as when I heard the Discharge, Teen Idles, Germs or any other of the old bands that sounded like something you hadn’t heard before. I say almost cause it dosen’t sound as “new” as at it did back in the days BUT it has the exact feeling that I’m looking for in bands. The oh so releaving “I don’t give a fuck!” attitude.
I saw these guys live some weeks ago and it was magic. I was about to yell something in “ostgotska” the home dialect of mine cause the singer Otto sounds like he comes from “Norrkoping”. A dialect that sounds like you got a lobotomy. Combine that dialect with great punk rock and you have a winner. Have been compared alot to Circle Jerks. And comparsions can be made cause you can clearly hear the influences. But let’s face it! They’ve refined the sound of Circle Jerks and this is better. Watch out for more Regulations to come.

If Otto where from Linkoping I’ve would’ve known who he are. But maybe he’ve been hiding in the closet and moved straight to Umea?

Wow! FANTASTIC record all around! Great drumming, guitar playing and especially the vocals! I am still humming “Going Nowhere”. But, hey, that song clocked in at 3 minutes– WAY past your 2:36 time limit rule! ha ha I somehow missed this when it came out a few years ago, sorry I did.

Otto is from åtvid that’s right, I think he used to play bass in requiem a really boring kängband in the middle of the 90’s. They made a split with Bracca 3 from motala and then the two bands mixed up and became Konfrontation but otto moved on. Good for him cause this is much better than konfrontation and requiem.
