Great song, thanks for putting it up. Just imagine if the Sex Pistols and Punk rock hadn’t happened and Split Enz had, we all would’ve ended up wearing Clown Suits, think about it.

  3. The Flakes // Drummer says:

    HA HA HA!

  4. Ron says:

    Hi,

I saw Split Enz a couple of times live in the early 1970s … weird but bloddy entertaining

  5. Anonymous says:

    What are you, a DICK???

    Split Enz ruled.

  6. Boulder says:

I kinda agree with Anonymous there. I mean, back in the day when I was trying to be so hardcore and all, I would say that this new wavey kinda stuff sucked.

But here it is, what some 30 years later, and as an adult I am finally comfortable liking the hardcore stuff AS WELL AS THE SUCKY NEW WAVE STUFF.

C’mon, and get THROUGH WITH BEING COOL.

Punk means doing what I WANT and I just so happen to want to wear clown suits.

  7. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Ahh another “I love my band so you’re not allowed to say they suck” war coming up :)?

Boulder, I’ve always loved New Wave though for me it have always been punk rock. For me it was no difference listening to Devo, Oingo Boingo, Adam & The Antz etc and to Clash, Pistols jada jada. I never got the “real” punks view that you had to be so narrow in your music taste and that it was important to classifiy what kind of punk category a certain band belonged to.

It would’ve been alot cooler to have people walk around in clown suits then studs, leather and mohawks. Now I start thinking about how much the swedish scene sucked in the mid ’80s with all these shitty Dis and That bands. Moste of them sure sounded and looked punk but where most of the non punk people you could meet.

  8. The Flakes // Drummer says:

I must mention that I got a yellow Devo suit that I would’ve worn everyday if I had it back in the ’80s just to take the piss out of the hardcore punks.

Me too, i saw them in early 1982 (i think), at Festival Hall in Melbourne with my Dad, he had great taste in music back then, nowadays he’s into Gilbert & Sullivan (he is turning 60 this year).

  10. CORPUS 77 says:

SPLIT ENZ – NOT MY SCENE AT ALL, AS FOR CLOWN SUITS INSTEAD OF STUDS AND LEATHERS- ILL KEEP MY LEATHER THANKS !

  11. Boulder says:

Studs & Leathers – that is a clown suit, dude. Even more so, because you don’t know you’re wearing one. Wake up and get a job, it’s 2006 now, Sid.

  12. Anonymous says:

I KNOW ITS 2006 !, IVE WORN THE SAME LEATHER SINCE 78 AND AS FOR A JOB, WELL IVE GOT 1, AND A DAMN GOOD PAID ONE AS WELL !.

I WAS ONLY SAYING ID RATHER NOT WEAR THEIR CLOWN SUITS, OR LISTEN TO THEIR SOUND

  13. The Flakes // Drummer says:

That a Split Enz post could gather so much comments. I have a punk jacket made by mohair and cotton studs. That’s rather punk rock.

  14. Boulder says:

Punk rock is whatever say it is, so shut the hell up already.

As for leather jackets and studs, I say kiss my pinstripe suit, you pathetic Sid Vicious clone.

And I want to see a copy of your last paycheck, Anonymous. I believe you’re probably 45 years old and still bagging groceries at the Piggly Wiggly Supermarket next to the house where you still live with your mother.

  15. Degenerateen says:

Sid Vicious had a mother. Mothers are punk rock.

  16. pawel says:

    a good track

  17. MAD HATTER says:

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT, BOULDER HAS A ROCK STUCK UP HIS A*se, FIRST OF ALL HE SAYS GET A JOB, THEN WHEN HE FINDS THAT THE PERSON HAS ONE, HE SAYS LET ME HAVE A LOOK AT THE PAY CHECK !( WHAT IS HE THE PUNK POLICE !)

WHEN THESE COMMENTS WHERE SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT ABOUT SPLIT ENZ-WHO I HAVE TO SAY ARE CRAP. BOULDER- HAS STARTED TO MAKE INSULTS BECAUSE HE DOESNT AGREE WITH SOMEONE ELES’ COMMENTS AND DRESS SENSE !!!
AND HE WAS THE ONE WHO STATED-“Punk means doing what I WANT” and I just so happen to want to wear clown suits

  18. Boulder says:

I AM the punk rock police. You are all accused of being idiots. Now bend over while I insert the billy club.

  19. wedge says:

um, the 1 person i know who is STILL a punk from the late 70’s & STILL bags groceries at the local super-market(over 20 years, fukkers!!); his job has tons of paid health benefits, pays 2x what anybody else i know gets, and has almost 2 months of paid vacation a year…

  20. Drax says:

Don’t be a screaming faggot. This isn’t the only really great track they made, and there’s plenty more that’s accessible.
