Ha ha I've been feeling the EXACT same way! But now I've finaly have some hope again. The ratio of finding great bands versus the shit have risen. At least for me! So don't give up the hope. And if there's any new bands you want to recommend just use the contact page.
I've been living in the past the whole 90s. I listened to new bands but all it was was crap crap crap. Ok some exceptions.

Don't get me wrong mate i'm really grateful that you can bring these newer bands to my attention cuz I long ago gave up wading through too many crappy (and sometimes recommended by other people) punk records to find the occasional rough diamond. I know in some parts of the world at any one time there are great bands and scenes happening but the effort required vs reward ratio has gone off the scale. I like to see new bands paying more attention to songwriting and originality rather than just playing perfectly produced generic pop punk or likewise hardcore....or am I just living in the past?????? Dont answer that!!!:)

The arrangement and the song structure is too generic for my taste. Could've gone through if it was played with more desperation and attitude. Maybe I was a bit vauge but I haven't heard the original version. My point was that Sack O Woes original numbers here are so much better then the cover song.
But I'm glad that someone enjoys the cover :). Though I wish it was the Sack O Woes tracks that got all the attention.

Ok Peter then were gonna have to disagree on this one, that song has all the required hooks and melodies with all the rough edges left in that makes a great punk tune. I don't disagee that the De Straks original version is better but I've heard some of the newer punk bands cover old punk tunes and they can get the production perfect but they seem to lose something in getting that right. I know that we all have different tastes and maybe find other things in punk tunes that floats our boats (this is maybe why I've never understood why people buy GBH CD's) but for me this pushes all the right buttons and ticks all the right boxes and i'm happy that you've nudged me in this direction.....another boring punk rock tune? NO WAY!

I think the De Straks tune dosen't hold up at all to their originals. It sounds like just another boring punk rock song to me.
