Rotjoch -Tomorrow 7″

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

rotjoch_tomorrow.jpgA perfect powerpop hit that clocks in at 1:54. These boys where from Holland and I think this is their only 7inch release. Haven’t heard their LP “Bad Boy” but been told it should be pretty good. “Tomorrow” is available on “Best Of Powerpearls”.

Beast Of Beast - Sex, Drugs…And Noise E.P. 12″

Monday, June 5th, 2006

beastofbeast.jpgYes! The ugly cover don’t make you eager to listen to it. There was a really great record shop in Stockholm in the ’80s where you could find lots of used records(Zero Boys, Hypnotics etc etc) and be able to listen to the vinyl. If I hadn’t been able to listen to it I would never invested the vast amount of 23 swedish crowns into it. Talk about an underrated record here! If you’re like me and love Legal Weapon, 45 Grave, U.X.A. and such I think you’ll love this. Somewhat reministic to Plasmatics in some degrees.

Kraut - Unemployed E.P. 7″

Sunday, June 4th, 2006

kraut_unemployed.jpgAlot better then the hyped “Kill For Cash” 7″. I was so dissapointed when I got hold of “Kill…” that I got rid of it right away. What was/is all the fuzz about? This on the other hand is a solid killer NY punk rock 7inch. I saw a video of a reformed Kraut and it was…well am I allowed to use THAT word again? Ok here we go: CRAP!

Siouxsie And The Banshees - Love In A Void

Saturday, June 3rd, 2006

Nostaliga is great. That’s what punk rock is all about. Looking back into the past and remember how great it once was. Here’s another goose bump thing to look at.

Love In A Void

Etiquette Mona - Amsterdam 7″

Saturday, June 3rd, 2006

etiquette_mona.jpg“Amsterdam” was heavily rotated on my Killed By Death Radio station when it was up and running. I heard the song for the first time in 2003 and was shocked I hadn’t heard anyhing about it earlier since it’s one of the best powerpop/punk songs from Sweden ever. The site from where I bought it and read some info I was told it was a one man project: Joakim Hermelin - Amsterdam 7inch and where from Vadstena.

I have to stand corrected on this one cause it’s a band named Etiquette Mona and they where from a shit hole 40km away from where I lived: Motala. Hermelin(the man behind the songs) and one of his former band mate have reunited: Landlord. Plain white sleeve but comes with a lyric sheet.

Hasses med Sussies - Slav 7″

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

hasses_cover.jpgSussie Nilsson counts in quiet fast on the tom toms and then struggle to keep the tempo up. Fabolous sloppy and amateruish punk rock in the vein of Panics and Vast Majority. I heard this for the first time some two years ago and I know absolutly nothing about them. Can’t recall seeing their name back in the days either.

Lubricants - Activated Energy 7″

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

lubricants_orig.jpgThis is an example of an overrated record. I’ll put it up here so you know what not to spend your hard earned money on. “Activated Energy” was issued on Killed By Death Vol. 12. From Milwaukee, WI and was known as Modern Physics before they changed their name to Lubricants. “Trans-formation Vacation” is ok but WHY in the name do a punk rock song that drags on for 3 minutes and 36 seconds?
Country: USA
Year: 1980
Label: Relative Records
