XS Energy – Use You 7″

xsenergy.jpgSounds like it could’ve been recorded at Space Ward Studios. But just listen to what a sound you can get from a 4 track recording. Raw and enthusiastic punk rock blaster. Both tracks are classics! This is their second and last 7inch. “It was recorded on 4 Track at ‘Studio Playground’ in Wragby, Lincolnshire. The fact that their singles were released on ‘Dead Good’ leads many people to believe they were a Lincoln-based band, but the songs were publised by ‘Criminal Records’ in Coventry so it’s also possible that they came from there?“.

These guys are from Lincoln – not Coventry. This is their 2nd 7″ released on Lincoln’s Dead Good Label – a label co-owned by their drummer. The first 7″ Eighteen was initially issued on World records and then re-issued on Dead Good. Members of the badn went on to play with a ‘later’ Cigarettes line-up as well as briefly a band called the Suburban Toys.
