Fast Cars - The Kids Just Wanna Dance 7″

Two great punk/powerpop songs with enough rawness to please the punk purist. I had some mail correspondence with Stuart Murray a couple of years ago regarding my copy:”Hi Peter, I don’t know if Dizzy told you about the signed single, but that was one of the very first singles sold in 1979!!!!! (Dizzy might not have known).
I was suprised when you said you had a signed copy, as we only signed them on the day they were released at the Streets Ahead shop in Altrincham. I asked Dizzy where he got it from and he said it was someone who was at the shop on the day of release, it is genuine because only the band and those that were there on the day would know such information, I have never told Detour, or anyone else for that matter.Could you please send me a scan of the autographs, none of us actually kept a copy so you have a real collectors item !!!!
Bye for now STUART”.
Nice chap and they reformed some years ago. Have released some new stuff and a couple of the new tracks is quite ok but not near the quality of the old stuff. Visit the Fast Cars online: broooooom.

Hi Anna! Yeah I have that one too. It’s ok but… We still have the banner to your blogg up. If you reload you’ll see it pop up from time to time. Thinking about taking in some ads to get the site running.

The Kids Just Wanna Dance… [...]

Funny, I stumbled upon this trying to find “Kids Just Wanna Dance” by The Fast (produced by Ric Ocasek of the Cars). This song is better, anyway.
