It’s US HC day today kids in case you haven’t realised that? I saw the trailer for the American Hardcore movie today and got just as inspired as I used to get when I was younger. I can still feel it.
The book that the movie is based around is ok though I often feel I knew more and was more involved in the US HC scene then Steve Blush was though I lived in Sweden.
Anyway here’s Code Of Honor with their debute 7inch released by the long going Subterranean Records. Just as great as their split with Sick Pleasure. And dude there’s a skateboarder on the sleeve! Rad man!

I used to love COH (mainly for the split LP) back in the 80s, but the pathetic lyrics and the overall operette-like atmosphere just won’t do it for me no more, I’m afraid. Same problem with MDC or CRUCIFIX – these bands nowadys are providing me with a gospel-experience I never had before in my life. Maybe this is how God punishes atheists …..
I pretty much love anything by COH including the poorly reviewed Beware The Savage Jaw LP. Their previous bands Society Dog and Tools are some of my favorite 7″s as well.
Yeah the lyrics are pathetic to me too nowadays. But put them in the context and time and they somehow make sense.
the guy on the cover is Dave Chavez, the bass player who did time in Sick Pleasure before COH and Verbal Abuse and countless other Bay Area bands after COH.
everything COH ever released (including one outtake from the What Are We Gonna Do session) has been re-released on CD by Subterranean Records.
Society Dog was better. Johnithin sang for them prior to COH.
Wow Bong Scott, who would have known??
R.I.P Jonathin!
Wow, this was & is such a breath of fresh air for me (after initially discounting it)!!
