I’m pretty sure some of the other blogs out there have posted this Bags 7inch before. I’ve searched for it but can’t find it now so here we go. A classic release from a classic band and from classic label. Two outstanding tracks that stands the test of time. But dosen’t all the tracks posted here do that? Well they do actually so that wasn’t a necessary comment.

Fuck!!! This is such a monster of a record! Dangerhouse what such an amazing label I could weep- Bags, Weirdos, Black Randy, Deadbeats, Dils, Eyes, etc, etc, etc. Damn! Like Raw they released so many killer records but are better because Raw did have some clunkers. A lot of great releases over just 2 years of being in existence. Plus Dangerhouse had those cool foldover sleeves and a great logo. Artifix Records announced about 2 years ago that they’re doing a Bags CD but it seems stalled for some reason.

I’ve always been a fan of ‘We Will Bury You’ over ‘Babylonian Gorgon.’

The BAGS CD with 20 songs is still in the works. Things are slow as so many of the people involved have many projects, etc. We hope to have it out by early to mid 2007 if all goes well. Wish us luck! THe CD sounds great! We just need to finish the artwork and clear the rights to some of the tracks.

The Bags lp from Artifix is well out and great. And it was just one of the featured records on the ggrreat Wild Record Collection tv show on Manhattan Cable Network. Beautiful red vinyl and the whole package design (with Dawn’s photos) is fantastic. Good job, Artifix!

just saw alice rip through a set of old bags songs just last weekend at a museum exhibit about women in east l.a.’s punk scene. although alice wasn’t part of the east l.a. punk scene, she was from east l.a. and has performed with some of the other women in the exhibit in later bands. was a good show, a good party and a great night.
