Wards - Don’t Make U.S. Shoot The Pershing II E.P. 7″
August 12th, 2006 at 6:57 am
The awesome Strange Reaction posted this sometime ago. But since the files over there sounds “remastered” and not as muddy and punk as on the original vinyl I’ll post it. If you’re more into the clean version you’ll just have to head over to SRs post of this: Wards at Strange Reaction.
Everything you could ask for is etched on to vinyl on this amazing record. Classic punk rock from start to finish. Not a single boring moment.
From Kill From The Heart: “Beano Parker, the future guitarist for the Wards, first heard the Sex Pistols’ Never Mind The Bollocks LP in 1977-1978. Hearing this album turned him on to a whole style of music that he had previously been totally unfamiliar with.“.
Country: USA
Year: 1984
Label: Medical
Format: 7″
Songs:
Weapon Factory-Rev.mp3
Bomb.mp3
Fear The Government.mp3
25 Killed.mp3
Spray Children.mp3

It’s a major crime for every vinyl-archivist to make up record titles! Booh!

Ha ha you’re actually right about that my lover boy so I’ll change it. But I change it just so I can get some free sex from you someday.

My mum said you’re a bit rude, so hm …..
(Hell, we’re nearly 40 - it must be the music that makes us imbeciles)

Both Wards EP’s are great, but for my ears their first EP is better… so please post that one if you have it! The Wards’ “Ripped Off In Boston” cassette with like 10 songs on it is pretty good but not up to the quality of these EP’s overall.

i agree with the ripped off in boston tape but its a hell of a good cassette. the wards are one of the greatest!!! great post!!!

Never seen a bad with a bigger drum set than the last time I saw the Wards in 1993. “there’s a baby inside me…and I want it out!”

This single is great. I need to hear the Ripped Off In Boston tape. Anyone know where I could find a copy ?

I actually know a guy who owns the Ripped Off tape and his name is Erich and runs the great blog:
http://goodbadmusic.blogspot.com/
Well he needs some money for webspace so let’s hope it works out and we get to hear that tape pretty soon.

Yepp and I even already ripped the tape - it’s ready to be posted but as Peter said webspace’s running out and with the little remaining I will have to concentrate on 7″ excerpts.

I did the recording that is on strange reaction.. Sorry you didn’t like it, but for the record, I didn’t “remaster” it.. Maybe it sounds “cleaner” because I’m better at ripping albums?

No offense Mike. But in this case it means your worse :). At least to me I think the most important thing is to get as close to the sound of the vinyl itself.
