I Just Can’t Stand Cars either makes you incredible happy cause of its silly poppy sound bordering to ridicolous cheezines. Or you’ll instantly hate it. Me? I love it! Teenage Teenage is more of a punkypowerpop tune that is equally great but not in a cheezy way. Loud drums and catch guitar leads makes it an instant classic.
Karl Hyde who forme The Screen Gemz is now in a quiet famous dance act called Underworld.
“A SINGLE ‘I DONT LIKE CARS’ WAS MADE AND DISTRIBUTED BY FRIENDS OF THE BAND, WITH KARL (THE ARTY ONE) DESIGNING THE COVER. THE BOYS CLAIM THAT THE BAND INFLUENCES INCLUDED KRAFTWERK AND DUB REGGAE!” Well those influences can’t be heard here anyway.

This is great, isn’t it? Nice one.
nice link to my site… thanks ;)
anyway its a good early track and not half that bad better than some of the later (early)Underworld stuff from the 1990’s
i have the original vinyl – but know of no one else who has one, but i assume you do to…?
Big Screen Satellite
Yes, I own the vinyl and I’m pretty sure LDK Steve owns it too.
Thanks for this one… been looking for it for a long time!
Sounds like “I Can’t Stand Cars” was later reworked into the Freur song “Runaway.”
Great to get a copy of this at last. Thanks for making it available.
Not a fan of the first track. But the second is tops. Super infectious. I love it.
love these songs! anyone know where u can get them i cant find them on itunes :-( oh and yes my friend was just saying the ‘i cant stand cars’ sounded like ‘runaway’ they should definatly re-release some of this stuff.
Hannah, you can’t download the songs here?
Thanks so much for these. As a fan of The Underworld and Freur, I’m thrilled to have finally heard this 7″
Cheers,

Jesus I hate this world because I could have missed such a brilliant piece of music. I’m depressed that there must be a lot of other amazing stuff I’m missing. Still happy to find this. Thank God!!!!
I like and hate this all at the same time. thanks for the mp3 downloads. Im a little sad that some stuff thats newer is only available through mp3. I enjoy having the CD at hand. I like the 5 song disks with endless dizzy remixes and a new song here and there thats no where else. (8 ball) (spooky). Im not really all that technical but i may just have to start messing with dig files more to get new stuff. its been to long without my new underworld. I have about 50 diff CD’s.
Fav CD overall: Change the weather
Fav CD mixing (dubbano)
Fav Song: To dream of love
Least fav song: Fever
ah nice. thanks for the help. i quite like this one. underworld? never heard em.
as 45 REVOLUTIONS Encyclopedia and also Alex Ogg´s NO MORE HEROES Book document, there were also a handful of -very good looking!- pre-release (“temporary”) picture sleeves (that got the ****/* rating
in Mario´s Encyclopedia).
I too have the original vinyl – and remember them performing live around Cardiff back in the day – including a lunchtime gig on the roof of the Students’ Union. Happy days.
