Boyfriends - I Don’t Want Nobody 7″

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

boyfriends.jpgThink many missed out on this record believing it’s too much powerpop. Beeing released by Bomp! and the cover looks soooo powerpop. Anyway I Don’t Want Nobody is great punk. Like a rawer version of The Heartbreakers. The b-side isn’t as good but well worth a listen. Their first release out of two. From New York/Ullareds Sallad Automat.

The Briefs - This Age 7″

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

briefs_thisage.jpgI watched the Getting Hit On The Bank video from the latest Briefs LP Steal Your Heart. And I can’t help but feeling they’ve become a paradoy on punk rock: Watch it. Lot’s of “real” punk rockers with leather jackets, mohawks and the whole commercialised punk look. Ha ha it’s pathetic. Sorry! Here’s one of the best songs The Briefs ever done along with Poor And Weird: Medication.

Bog Ugly - Disco Veteran 7″

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

bogugly.jpgHow can it be possible to do such an incredible ugly cover for such a great record? Let Disco Veteran pass through the intro then you’re up for a great song. I’ve Seen It Vomit is more traditional punk rock but nevertheless a great song too. Apparently the full name of the band was Bog Ugly And The Wufters.

John’s only punk band, he played bass and also drums on a few songs. His favourite track of theirs was ‘I’ve Seen It Vomit’,…“.

Comped on Killed By Death 7inch series and Bloodstains Across The UK.
