Out out out! I get such an adrenaline rush every time I hear the title track. Be warned! If you got tinnitus like me be careful as you put on “27.3″. The intro is not easy to the ears. All tracks available for download since this rules. One of the guys went on to Condemned To Death.

A solid two tracker. I’ve heard some buzz that “Test Tube Baby” shall be great before I got it. But after awhile it turns out I’ve listen more to the b-side “Calling All Cardinals” an ultra thin XTCish arty-punk song.

Yes, you’re more then welcome to fill me in on more info about the Chronics. I know that Dave De Luca formed The Clock togheter with ex-Pagans guy Tommy Metoff.

This is a re-post from March the 29th 2006. Added more scans and Jag vill ingenting.

One of the best early swedish punk 7inches. Period. Raw, fast, it’s released 1979, boarding to Hardcore. The only bands I can think of competing in speed during this time is Middle Class(1978) and Germs.

The Nilsson brothers later formed Huvudtvatt/Headcleaners. You can grab yourself a copy at eBay right now.

Agent Orange - Bloodstains E.P. 7″

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

agent_orange_bloodstains_front.jpgagent_orange_bloodstains_back.jpgagent_orange_bloodstains_a.jpgagent_orange_bloodstains_b.jpg

The song that have given name to a series of compilations of obscure punk: Bloodstains Across this and that country. But the best name yet for a comp of obscuritys may be Cumstains Over My Record Collection.

Bloodstains have somewhat overshadowed the other two tracks wich are awesome too but not as hard production wise when it comes to the guitars. Agent Orange went in a more gloomy direction but at least Living In Darkness is worth picking up. Enjoy some classic punk rock from California sailors.

This is a re-post from March the 29th 2006. Added more scans and Hardcore.

From the same label that released the incredible The Skinnies 7″(coming up don’t worry) and the not so great The Buns 7″. The dubing of the vocals that is then paned left and right makes up for a very special sound. As soon as you hear the guitar lead in the beginning of Almost Ready you know you’re up for a tasty treat.

The Wayward Youth - El Mundo 7″

wayward_youth_front.jpgwayward_youth_back.jpgwayward_youth_label_a.jpgwayward_youth_label_b.jpg

Another killer 7inch from New Orleans. The hometown of fine acts like The Normals and The Skinnies.

Two wonderful tracks that can be played over and over again. Too bad they decided to tune the guitar and bass against each other on Do You Wanna. On El Mundo they didn’t give a fuck and it gives it a special aura.

By the way, take a look at the fine design of the record label logo.

This was posted some time ago at Strange Reaction:”…at a time when hey bras and hard rock ruled Metairie and punks were considered social outcasts, he put The Normals and the Buzzcocks on the jukebox, much to the chagrin of everyone at Pizza Inn except me.

shooitup_front.jpgshooitup_back.jpgshooitup_lable_a.jpgshooitup_lable_b.jpg

Retardo, fucked up drug promoting punks from Long Beach, CA here. A big dose of that good ‘ol fuck you attitude coupled with some of the best sloopy played tunes I’ve heard in a long time.

What I love most is HocDogs vocals that sounds like he couldn’t care less. Great! 500 copies with two different sleeves. Special edition of 25 with a stamped gun on the innersleeve. The guys where kind enough to send me a couple of stickers that fits nicely on a lighter. Too bad I’ve given up crack.

Don’t know much about these guys except they where from New York. Got this awesome 7″ in a trade with Justin at collectorscum.com if my memory serves me right. Heartbreaker is equally great so all in all this is a solid release that seems to be very hard to find. Enjoy!

firststeps_anywhere_front.jpgfirststeps_anywhere_back.jpgfirststeps_anywhere_label_a.jpgfirststeps_anywhere_label_b.jpg

Here’s The First Steps second and sadly enough their last 7inch. Handclaps, hooky guitar leads and an ear for writing catchy songs. It’s all in hear.

Though this is fantastic punk/powerepop it might be a hard one for the punk purist to swallow. But hey, studs and leather Joe why don’t you try Airplay? Enough said.

The Stimulators - Loud Fast Rules 7″

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

stimulators_front.jpgstimulators_back.jpgstimulators_label_a.jpgstimulators_label_b.jpg

12 year old Harley Flanagan on drums here. He later joined one of the worst band to appear in the 80’s: Cro Mags. But here he manage to cranck out some classy and sloopy punkypowerpop togheter with: Anne Gustavsson, Patrick Mack and Denise Mercedes.

Both songs are over 3 minutes and would normally dissolve from my short attention span. Why they don’t I can’t really put my finger on.

Stimulators released a live cassete on ROIR and an even rarer 7inch after this that got two songs from the ROIR tape. All scans are up here except for the insert. The front sleeve is one of my all time faves along with Insults-Stiff Love.
