Cinecyde - I Left My Heart In Detroit City LP 12″
September 2nd, 2006 at 2:31 am
Too bad there’s only three good tracks on this one. The production on the other hand makes it sometimes worthwhile to listen through the whole thing. Incredible punchy! If this had been a 7inch with Don’t Come… and Enemy Man it would’ve been a monster. A perfect mix of punky powerpop with a slight hard rock influence(hey it’s from Detroit!).

Wow, these 3 songs are great especially “Don’t Come Crying To Me”! I had always heard this LP was spotty so I never bothered checking it out all these years. These 3 tunes are right up there with my favorite Cinecyde song, “Rock Meat and The Hard Ons” from their 2nd EP. “Gutless Radio” from the 1st 7″ is pretty good too of course.

I totally agree with neatneatneat, the whole lp rules, they don’t play to formula or type and that’s what makes the WHOLE of this record so great. Their later stuff is great too, true punks…….
