This is a re-post from April the 5th 2006. Added more scans, Jet Set and Fashion.
Search alot to find anything about The Executives. They’re on “Killed By Death nr.9” that’s all I found. Two great tracks out of four. Herky jerky punk with their own style. Love it. On the same label as The Injections.

Great record on a great label (Xterminators, Injections, Executives)! “Herky jerky punk” is the perfect way to describe the EP. The only clunker for me is “Resistance”. “Jet Set” is the best. Playing fact checker, “Jet Set” was actually on KBD#10 back in ’96 and not KBD#9. Now didn’t the record originally come without a picture sleeve? Plus, I’ve never seen this sleeve variation before– the one I usually have seen is a more colorful (albeit cheesy looking) one with just the band name on the front.
Thanks for the correct info Tony! I\’m uncertain about the sleeves too. But I think you\’re right that it was released sleeveless. Maybe someone made the sleeves up after finding a box of mint copies? I have the colorful cheesy sleeve in there as well. Drill Press and Resistance are my picks the other two feels more like fillers :).
I’m surprised that there aren’t more comments about this one. I like it all, but “Resistance” is my favorite. Maybe it’s just me, but every time I hear these songs, I think of The Adolescents.
Killed By Death #10 is one of my personal favorites in that endless series and of course Jet Set is a classic on that one. It’s cool to hear more of their stuff.
Hey, I really like this band.
Does anyone know where I can either buy them or download them?
I’ve been looking around and can’t find anything anywhere. I promised I tried.
If anyone can answer I’d be really grateful!
Hi Ester! The downloads are right here. What’s the problem?
I’m confused…
When I click on the link, that leads me to a page where I can listen to the song.
I think I’m missing something. How do I download it?
Aha Esther, you just RIGHT click on the link and choose Save as… Works?
Holy fuck! I had never listened to this or even heard them before…as I do not have KBD #10. What a surprise. I hope I can find one at a thrift store somewhere… : )
Yes! Thanx so much!
Some true San Diego PUNK!!
The sleeve variation shown is the original. Some were also released sleevless and a total of 1000 7″ were pressed. If anyone has this ep hold on to it they are worth about $500.00 a pop!!
If anyone has any questions about The Executives ask away and I can ask Mike Jenks the lead singer…my girlfriends father haha.
see if theres any unreleased tapes!
Hello this is Mike lead singer of the Executives. There were two covers. All hand done (xerox) plus hand tint by all of us drunk at the kitchen table. The marching men and “the Executive’s” hand stamped. I have several copies of each and , not to rub salt in the wound …. the white label test pressing as well. Thanks for the comments, enjoy. It was an incredible time and I loved every millisecond of it.
This is Rich from The Targets – another San Diego band who played with The Executives on a few occasions at local clubs. I thought The Executives were great! I bought the EP back in 1980 with both covers / sleeves and I’ve kept it in pristine condition all these years. I still listen to it sometimes and it sounds as righteous today as it did back then. Those were good days – no cell phones, email or twitter…it was grand.
Rich! Glad to here from you. Yes it was a great time and very unique. Those gigs were insanely good fun and so were the Targets. I still have the flyer from our Gig supporting you guys.
Mike: Please keep me posted when you guys play again…im in LA and wanna come down to catch your show. I have that flyer too! So glad you guys are still at it!
We are playing end of October for a record release of our old E.P (re issue) and a new E.P. I will keep you updated!
What would it take to get a copy,Mike..and are their any other recordings…rehersals, live, studio outtakes etc…???
I found a copy today at a local record store along with the Injections 45. They had 2 Injections (I picked the one w orig 1.49 price tag). I offered the lady 100 bucks each before the “pricing expert” showed up. The Executives came with b&w sleeve same as above and another generic “executives ep” inner sleeve, back of sleeve has pic of band. I passed on 3 copies of fuckin’ flyin’ a-heads and a copy of the Standbys withdraw in the same pile. Thanks for posting, now where can I get one of those spiffy Injections sleeves?
what did you wind up paying? and before you lay out any money, you should give the A-heads 7″ a listen first…altho its arguable which is worse,it or the Injections 7″
