Vast Majority – I Wanna Be A Number E.P. 7″

This is a re-post from April the 1st 2006. Added more scans, God’s Groin and Throwdown.

When people who’re not into punk think about how punk sounds I’m sure this is exactlly how they picture it. There’s not enough sloppy AND great punk records out there like this and The Panics “I Wanna Kill My Mom”.

H2D have issued a CD with old Vast Majority material. I’m unsure of the quality though since the two songs on the b-side ain’t good though hilarious.

Read about ’em here:“Vast Majority was formed in early 1979 as an outgrowth of a stupid fictional punk band I had been writing about called Shit Snotnose and the Scabsuckers.”

One of the records that make me smile and feel like a hippy whenever I put it on.

  2. Dan says:

I actually think “God’s Groin” is the best song on the EP!

“Ask anyone, ask anyone I don’t give a shit!”

  3. Frankie Wrath says:

Great shit. Thanks for posting. I love the hideously off time guitar, it really makes the album.

  4. Jay Thurston says:

I have never heard a band sound so awful. I fucking love this record!

  5. Tuxie says:

    Love at first sound!

  6. Chuck Foster says:

    Hey Peter!
Did you study the drumming on this EP to get your “drunken monkey” sound on Kalaspuffar? ;P
Just kidding – I love Kalaspuffar and your drunken monkey playing!

  7. The Flakes // Drummer says:

He he at least the drums would´ve sounded funny on Kalas puffar if I studied the Vast drummer ;).

  8. John A says:

Me love this record long time. used to cover “Throwdown” in one of the bands I was in.

    RIP Henry Wilddog.

  9. Martin says:

I’ve spent way too much listening to this one lately, and it’s totally over the top when it comes to sloppiness! Love it, love it, love it!

  10. Levi Johnston says:

Admittedly my wife and I are drinking enough that the homeless guy knows to make another sweep past our house to pick up the empty bottles, but only studio session players would fail to see that the playing on this record is as tight as my ten-year-old sister’s love tunnel. Fuck you Yngwie Malmsteen wannabes!

  11. corpus77 says:

    THIS IS TOP NOTCH BOLLOX

get their LP on vinyl on rave up records, if you wanna hear more classic punx, as it should be played.
