Kriminella Gitarrer - Vardad kladsel 7″

The first set up of Kriminella Gitarrer formed in September 1977 and disbanded in July 1978. During this time they recorded two classic 7inches: Vardad kladsel and Silvias unge. It’s raw. It’s primitive. It’s sloppy. It’s fantastic! Scanned the lyrics for the swedes so they know how great punk lyrics are written.

I know there’s some people from Belgium that are floating around in here so I hope they’ll kind enough to tell us a little about Definitivos. Rik Masselis(drums) from The Pigz can be found among the members. Anyone heard their later stuff?

Two killer tracks on a-side and a sucker on the b-side that I’ve posted since I know how eager you are to hear ALL the tracks no matter if I tell you how much it sucks.

Classy title from a classy band. Continues where Televesion Addict left off but with a slightly more polished production. Four great tracks while the fifth drags on for 5:48. Ok it’s punk to be annoying right? You know that Dave Faulkner went on to Hoodo Gurus and all that.

Here’s all the scans for you to chew on. I scanned the innersleeve too since the guys wrote The Victims with a yellow pen on there and that’s rare. Record collector shit you know!

Oh my! What is there to tell you about The Germs that you don’t allready know? The intro to No God is taken from one thing that Darby, Pat and I had/have in common: we all love/d Yes. It’s from “Roundabout” the first song on “Fragile”. A fantastic record.

The special guitar sound was aquired through a direct line in to the soundboard since Pat had forgotten to bring with him an amplifier. Some people told me that the new version of Germs without Darby shall be pretty great so it may be worth catching them live if they come around.

Sack O Woes - Baby, I’m Born Old E.P. 7″

I’ve always had a hard time with so called garage punk. Just too damn generic most of the time. New Bomb Turks? Please! Sack O woes on the other hand whom I guess could be put into that narrow gengre? Or maybe not. They’re too good for that! Let’s just call it Punk Rock.

Niels and Joost from SOW played in Gepopel. And just as Gepopel had IT when it came to Hardcore Sack O Woes has IT when it comes to playing engaging, frantic punk with carefull attention to arrangement details.

Why haven’t Sack gotten more attenition then? Sorry Niels but I guess it’s the sleeves. They’re really awfull. Except for their latest one White Out(posted some months ago) which is silk screened and looks really nice.

I swear that people will be looking for Sacks releases in 10 years time. This is their second 7inch. And hold and behold as you can hear on their latest White Out they seem to only getting better and better!

I know I know! 7inchpunk posted this awhile ago. BUT since I’m a bit picky about the sound the mp3s didn’t do it for me. There’s a huge sound difference between 128kps and 192kbps rips. The sound isn’t as full and the cymbals hurts my tinnitus ears. To make it a little bit more fun I’ve scanned the back of the sleeve and the fold out ditty. It’s 1978 and it’s from Australia so you know it rocks!

Undercover Cops. You think you’re tuff! Don’t you? You’re bacon! Oink Oink Oink!

Oslo Bors - S/T E.P. 7″

oslobors_front.jpgoslobors_back.jpgoslobors_label_a.jpgoslobors_label_b.jpg

Straight out of the Black Metal woods of Norway. Oslo Bors superb first and only(?) three track smasher. If you know how happy and silly norweigans sound when they talk it’s hard to imagen that they could sound pissed off while singing. But they do! Funny how the scandinavian bands tend to sound very much alike. This could just as well been a swedish punk record out of Gothenburg.

One of the so called holy grails among “kbd” 7inches. Another band that the italian label Rave Up have made an re-issue LP with. It’s sold out but you can still pick it up at various places round the net. Fill me in about the band please! Read a little bit about them at Hyped 2 Death.

First heard at the excellent Litte Hits: www.littlehits.com. Awesome, killer arrrrrgggghhh it’s powerpop till you bleed. Need I say more? No! Thank you! Now over to Jon at Little Hits:”You know how so many punk and power pop records of the era have “ironic” lyrics about taking you out to the drive-in or meeting your parents, or whatever? This one evokes an innocence that seems completely real, an un-selfconsciousness that not even the fake British accents can negate.

The Shirkers - Drunk And Disordely 7″

This is a re-post from March the 30th 2006. Added more scans and Suicide.

Since I’m reading “Dance Of Days” now about the early DC scene I thought of celebrating that with this raving classic. The manic girl choir really sound stupidly drunk.

A trick I think I’ll use in a future recording for some band is one very fuzzy guitar and the other totally clean. Gives it a special desperate touch! Produced by Don Zientara. Released with two diffrent sleeves. I’ve got the more common crashed bottle sleeve.
