Molesters - Plastic 7″
November 13th, 2006 at 2:46 am
Here’s some dumb and raw true KBD punk from Holland. Why did we name this blog Killed By Death Records? Ha ha it sucks. Anyway now we’re stuck with it. And you know it was just a matter of time before someonelse started a blog with that name and would probably post worse records than we do.
Back to Molesters a band who I know nothing about except that they’re from the country of dope heads. Niels? Any information?
Country: Holland
Year: 1978
Label: Plurex
Format: 7″
Songs:
Plastic.mp3
I Am.mp3

it’s Mollesters. They were from Den Haag. One of them, Pierre, now runs a bar (the Big Confusion).
The recently played in an band “Johhny Cohen and the new agi nazi’s”, who released the one-sided 7″ Hitler was a speedfreak. Can’t miss it, the sleeve is a huge swastika.

Dumb but soooo great!
One of the best dutch punk singles ever. Unfortunately their only release. The band came from The Hague and they had a violent repuation and it is said they were banned from nearly every club (Infos from the KILLED BY EPITAPH - Comp.-LP)…
I wish I had been there!

I’ve loved this record for years, “Plastic” is especially a song I can whistle or hum (as emo and wimpy as that sounds). The lyrics on “I Am” always eluded me, though– at the beginning of the song with the drum roll, it sounds to me like the singer is saying “Record directors ate white meat too long, they think I empathize; punk magazine directors ate white meat too long, they think I empathize. But I think…”. Silly, but that’s what it sounds like to me. I am a master of misinterpreting punk lyrics, though. I could write a whole book on the stuff I swear I hear them say in some old Yugoslavian punk stuff. Like in the refrain of Panktri’s song “Lepi In Prazni” it sounds like the singer is saying “I’m a punker who’s six foot ten”… which would make him pretty damn tall. Help me please.

“record directors let wait me too long - they think i have the time / pop directors let wait me too long - they think i have the time, but it think…”
thats some great one on one bad translation from dutch to english.

Thanks! I would have never heard that in the lyrics otherwise! Wow, I was way off with my translation…

HA HA Tony! You should write the posts here instead of me!

Definately, Tony has “it”. I have a friend myself who’s expert in hearing “meaning” out of lyrics sung in foreign languages. “I’m a punker who’s six foot ten” - haha, I will never ever be able to listen to this song again without hearing this. Shreds.

He has! And good taste in music too!!

I’m an idiot for not being a huge fan of powerpop? Dont get me wrong, I like some powerpop. The Headaches 7″ is one of the best records ever and the Manikins LP that was released on Backstreet Records recently also has some great powerpop as well. I just prefer more punk sounding stuff. Im sorry for being close-minded.

Mollesters tracks are great. KBEpitaph is such a great record. One of my favs.
November 14th, 2006 at 12:56 pm
Ha ha, thanks! This has nothing to do with the Mollestors 7″ (I’m “off topic”) but here are some more wrong lyric interpretations. The “Bloodstains Across Yugoslavia” comp is ripe ground for me making up English lyrics since I have no clue what they’re saying in Yugoslavian. From that comp, on Kuzle’s track “Vahid”, I swear he says in the refrain “Marky Mark is kind of rich; Marky Mark- he is some kind of snitch; Marky Mark- he played them all, he played them all for someone who is so small”. Of course that song was recorded 10 years before Marky Mark aka Mark Wahlberg became a rapper and actor. In the Buldogi song “Vkoto Sveta” it sounds like he keeps repeating some line about a “ghetto informer”. And during the refrain of Indust Bag’s song “100 dB” is sounds to me like he’s saying “Eagle Scouts speak in honor”. Crazy, I know.

That Headaches “Power For Passion” 7″ is a great one. At a record show a few months back, I found an original copy from 1981 in the cool silkscreened sleeve for $2 or 3! The guy selling it knew his prog rock, but not his punk rock! Cumstains across my record collection!

Tony, you should definately either start your own blog (”True Ear - What I hear in foreign Punk”) or write your own songbook. Holy smoke, I have tears in my eyes, hahahaha
November 15th, 2006 at 2:23 am
Maybe I will start my own blog one day- “True Ear”, that’s funny, good idea!
November 15th, 2006 at 3:12 am
