Minor Threat - In My Eyes E.P. 7″
March 28th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
Ha ha a post of Minor Threat. Dude, it’s not rare and easy available everywhere. Yeah, it’s true that the music is easy available but not the record plus it’s spring time here in Sweden and I’ve spinned this a lot to get in the mood for getting drunk, blowing smoke into my fellow humans eyes and have unsafe sex.
I think this has to be one of my top 5 hardcore 7inhces of all time. The intensity and aggresivness has yet to be topped. What have always caught me is Ians screaming in the end of Out Of Step and as you flip the record Guilty Of Being White starts with the same thing. Gives me chills down my spines EVERY time. Luckily I decided not to put the sticker on my drums or guitars. But there where other stickers inside too wasn’t it?

This is my fave MT record too. Incredible guitar sound, distorted yet clean, kinda like the Avengers got on their We Are The One EP. Party trick: try playing the intros of Guilty and the Stooges’ TV Eye simultaneously!

Red vinyl with Gary Cousin or Gary Cousins?? What the hell. I did sneak into the backroom of a record store once and found the first MT 7″ in a stack of unpriced stock and the fella told me he’d give it to me for $10. Sweet.

Props on the post, I’ve always loved this record!
By the way, the 2 pictures of the vinyl are of the same side (Side B).

Ian Mackaye, lead singer of influential hardcore band Minor Threat as well as a band member of Embrace, Egg Hunt, Skewbald/Grand Union, Insurrection, The Evens, and Fugazi passed away today in a Baltimore hospital room. Outside a Fugazi show in New Jersey last night, the singer was struck by a car passing by the front of the Ventura Theatre. Brunswick police say that the driver allegedly stopped, but then fled the scene. There is now a police investigation underway.

“I am happy to report that I am not dead,” says MacKaye. He and the record company had been blasted with calls, he says, after premature reports of his death were posted on MySpace and Wikipedia. He says he hasn’t been able to find the MySpace reference, but had the Wikipedia posting removed — and then re-removed, once someone reinserted the false news.
