This is a repost from April the 1th 2006. Added more scans, re-recorded and uploaded all the tracks.

Thanks to Jimmi Quidd(vocals) the Bad Brains was able to record “Pay To Cum” during their time in NY in 1979. Quidd took money out of his own pocket to finance the recording that wasn’t released until 1980. Quidd also produced “Nine Toes Later” by The Undead(ex Misfit member). The title track is a great up beat punk/powerpop thrasher. Jimi died in 1990. Thank you Jimi for this and the Bad Brains.

The Maroons – No Condition/Out Tonight 7″

Todays flea market find:$2. The Maroons really hard to get 7 inch. I hadn’t heard it but seen it on some big collectors want lists. What a great surprise that it’s a killer one too! Some punked up 60’s influenced stuff here. For all you pop nerds that have been missing the powerpop lately shall have a close listen to Out Tonight. Complete with hand claps and sugary harmonies. Short and sweet just the way I like it.

No Condition is a chopped up killer track with awesome vocals and great drumming. I know absolutely nothing about this band. Anyone?

Yet another band featuring the great Freddie Wadling on vocals(and synth on Tank pa doden by Terminalpatienten). This time it’s Rukorna. The most famous of their two songs here is Folkmelodi with their remake of the Swedish national song. But I prefer the second track Ruset. Infectious moog sound.

I was very fascinated by the photo of Freddie. He’s the bald guy to the right. “Wow and old man playing punk. That’s so cool.” I don’t know if he would’ve had the chance to join a band today looking the way he looked.

Terminalpatienten has to be one of the earliest bands that manage to put 13 tracks on to one side of a punk 7 inch record. I know Seems Twice(Australia) have 12 on their 7inch which is from 1980 too.

One of the most unique bands in the early swedish punk scene. Consisting of only vocals and guitar(Rukorna helps out on Han e) and with an unmistakable twisted humor found in the first wave of punk. My favorite track is still Elephantpojken which makes me laugh my ass off everytime. Check out Terminalpatienten on the web: http://www.terminalpatienten.se.

I bet Senap can fill us in on more information about these two Gothenburg bands.

Sundsvalls finest. The third release from Massmedia gave you a hint of what was to come a year later – Huvudtvatt/Headcleaners. All four songs are good but this one(refers to Mardrom) is outstanding!

The Bleach Boys – S/T 7″

Not as fast and raw as their “Stocking Clad…” 12inch from 1983(the year of when it was released is really confusing). But it’s 1978 kids. Crude, simple, amateurish and of course amazing!! Especially Chloroform. Just admit it! After one listen it’s hard not to go around humming C-c-c-c-c-chloroform. Yes, the volume is faded up in the beginning on the record. It’s not me.

Check out an interview over at Punk 77:”Tramp was not our label – it was owned by a guy called Terry Friend who was/is still a grave digger in Letchworth.
