The singer reminds me of someonelse that I can’t recall the name of. Some people found his voice disturbing but I love it. Ok, maybe it wouldn’t hold for a full LP but for a 7inch it works perfect. Desperate and monotonies. Standing By The Window is easily the best track with its intense and infectious guitar melody but I also like the more XTCish/artpunky Buried Country and Watch My Hands comes in close to the a-side in quality.
Of course Inner City Sound have released some Tactics stuff:

KILL ME! One of my big big favourites in the Ozzie amphetamine sweepstakes. Tactics’ first LP on Green, ‘My Houdini,’ is good too – arty slightly Crime & The City Solution/Birthday Party-esque goff rot. …if you’re curious.
I love this fuckin record, all 3 songs, although “Standing By The Window” is the real whomper. Thanks for posting, this replaces the crummy-sounding cassette copy I’ve had for years.
Doc Corbin Dart ?
Are you maybe thinking the singer reminds you of the guy from Wolf Parade? Anyway, this site is amazingly good. And this record is awesome!! I especially love buried country.
Never heard of or heard Wolf Parade so that’s not the guy. And who’s Doc Corbin Dart?
“And who’s Doc Corbin Dart?”
Crucifucks singer.
Yeah, MrMike that’s the guy I’m thinking of!
Thanks, this is fantastic! Heard ‘Standing by the Window’ on the ‘Tales from the Australian Underground’ compilation. Have just seen they’ve got CD comp just out – ain’t heard it yet but will get it on the strength of this! Check it out at http://www.myspace.com/soundofthesound
This is is one of my FAVORITES! I totally own that Inner City Sound book and cd comp. Wish there wasn’t overlap with Tales From The Australian Underground comps though so we could hear a few new songs. There’s only a few Australian punk history comps and to keep repeating seems dumb, even if it is by different people with good intentions. Maybe it’s just me thinking punks will only own that and that they’ve heard the stuff before on the other comp probably. IDK. Tactics – A+++
.. and by the way… don’t bother checking wolf parade out. horrible indie shit.
I think its fucking incredible.
Yah, standing by the window is the best track.
Holy shit its grand.

Lol missed the post about Doc Corbin lol!!
Huge Crucifucks fan, so maybe thats why I like this so much.
Thank you again KBD!
Love it! Buried Country sounds best of the three in my ears. It reminds me a little of Y Trwynau Coch.
Got a few Tactics live songs up for free download on my site.
