KSMB short for Kurt Sune med Berits. Along with Ebba Gron this was the biggest punk band in Sweden late 70s till early 80s. They looked like a full blown “progg” band but played one of the most exciting punk that ever came out of Sweden.
They where among the fastest and maybe the most skilled musicians. Great lyrics too. Their Aktion LP released the same year is the first LP bordering to HC released in Sweden. Their stuff ain’t that hard to get and is mandatory!
Funny story: Alonzo, one of the two singers, where once togheter with a famous journalist who where stationed in LA for some time to do reports for Aftonbladet(a big news paper here in Sweden). In one of her columns she wrote about an old rock DJ she meet at the local laundry that she used to chat with. His name was Rodney Bingenheimer and she thought he looked a bit sad. Apparently he was once quiet famous too.

FUCK! “Tidens Tempo” is an absolute monster and is one of my favorite punk tunes ever from Sweden (out of the 100′s of stupendously great songs from Sweden in the late 70′s/early 80′s). Can I become an honorary Swedish citizen based on my devotion to old Swedish punk? Even if I am a supposed business manager?!?
All you gotta do is pass the fashion test for sweden, Tony.
LOL! Good one, Erich! Over here in the States, I think many people still associate Swedish culture with the Swedish meatball chef from the Muppets show. Or IKEA. I forgot to mention above that another reason “Tidens Tempo” is such a killer because the band sounds like they’re racing to get to the end of the song. Which is the case in a lot of classic punk songs.
Man, i’m dissaponited. They don’t look the part!
Haven’t listened in on KSMB for quite a while now – but – seems like at least “Atom Reggae” is a different mix than on the album, possibly same with “Tidens Tempo”. Anyone?
Tony, IMO it’s a little bit too easy to get a swedish citizenship these days. “Low budget” so to speak, so I guess punk fancing is another legible reason to get one as well :D
Someone did a pretty shitty rip of a KSMB live show from the movie “Punk och fäderneslandet”. Steppan looks amazing and Alonso looks like a total geek. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWduJf-qPFw
And from the same movie comes an amazing show by Incest Brothers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsUOJB2x8cE
