From Gothenburg. The second 7-inch from Attentat is a 3-song masterpiece with some fantastic drums, sounding like corrugated board-boxes!

Damn, you’re killing me here! Another one of my favorite Swe-punk records! A total smoker of an EP from start to finish. Some of the other Attentat stuff like “Opera Hauset” just sounds mediocre to me when compared to this EP. Their “Dod Bland Doda” 7″ is pretty good but not on this level. This EP is another case of a band racing to get through the songs and that makes it so good. I also always though the drummer was playing on carboard or something, especially at the beginning of “Omyndiga”. So awesome. And thanks for telling people that I’m a FORMER unpunk business manager- LOL!
Thanx again, Peter, for posting the pearls of the Gothenburg punk scene. Attentat was my favorite band back in the days, I think I saw them live about 20 times or more.. (Heja Gais) I think all the 3 first singles are egually good, maybe the boogie-woogie tune “En meningslös dag” scared some people off. But I think Attenat was at their absolute peak when they recorded the Sveriges Radio session for the P3-program “Utspel” in 1981. The whole session can be found on the “Mera pilsner, punk och poesi” CD. Those songs are still so fucking good that I’m turning 15 yrs old everytime I hear them!
Now it’s time to post the most essential GBG-punk 7″!! Which is TT Garderob 100’s “Mitt liv/Parkeringsdäck”. (P-p-p-please!!!)
Awesome post! I am seriously falling in love with Attentat haha! And I agree with Tony, this record is as good as it gets, but I still like the song Opera Hauset actually..
Got a spare copy of this one for sale here; http://shop.ebay.com/javelinen/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562
Happy bidding!
I think you Switched up the titles and the songs on “Omyndiga”, and “Hej gamle man”.
Great post, ah nostalgia!
