A classic swedish powerpop/punk 7inch from the band that later became Perfekt Alibi(thanks Senap!). I’m Down got that boggie feel to it that is just on the right side of the border of not being totally crap. You got some porridge? You haven’t? Ahh the singer Hakan just ate it all! Listen to his marvelous love it or hate it voice.
Here’s Rottweiler on the web: Voff voff.
Country: Sweden
Year: 1980
Label: Rottweiler
Format: 7″
Songs:

I like his voice, but can understand why other people dont like it…
Havent heard it before, it was good, some Dead Moon feeling to some parts, or is that just me? Are they from Skåne or Göteborg?

I’m into “I’m down”. Singer sounds like Cat Stevens though.

@ Petter - the band were from Nässjö. More info is there on the Voff Voff-link. My copy didn’t have a pic sleeve. Just that info-sticker (in orange) which I always thought were the actual sleeve. If I remember it right I bought it from someone in the band, through an add, so I guess that the bastardband ripped me off. I like this 7″ a lot. And yes, Håkan’s voice is somethig else but how can a singer in a band called Rottweiler sound like a Cat, Robert?

hey …this has nuthin to do with the posting i just wanted to ask if you guys by any chance had the flag of convenience - war on the wireless set lp….ive been lookin everywhere for it on mp3 to stick in my ipod but it seems it is totally overlooked by powerpoppers and punkdom ….curious if ya did have it could ya post it as i think it is one of the best kept punk secrets out there …that lp is a killer and think more people should hear it ….if youve never heard of it ,its steve diggles side project and actually has two other buzzcocks playing on it ..most of the material is also actually the scratched buzzcocks 4th lp that was never released and damn well should have been …anyways ,,,help a brother out if possible ….and since yer all about posting the most obscure shit out there, this is probably one of the most obscure there is as for some reason its totally overlooked and totally great ….doesnt seem like anyone has ever heard of it and for some reason there is a flag of convenience greatest hits cd but none of this lp is present on it …very weird as everything on this lp destroys whats on that greatest hits cd ….thanks ..jay

“war on the wireless” was some kind of a compilation of foc material, released in the late 80s / early 90s. it should be no problem finding it.

I just can´t get tired of hearing I’m Down….

Gotta be honest here, both tracks are atrocious and the “singing” is utter garbage.
August 14th, 2007 at 11:12 am
Ha ha got no problem with honesty. Taste differs.
But I find it quiet amusing that your first comment here is about something you don’t like.

Yeah, you’re right. Sorry about that, I should post some positive thoughts before criticising. Great site BTW.
