This might not be that interesting to all the Swedes out there since Solglasogon was played to death by the swedish radio. Still today it can be heard from now and then. Regardless it’s one of the most brilliant powerpop songs to emerge out of Sweden both musically and lyrically.
Joppe Philgren got a perfect sarcastic and snotty voice. It’s a giant step from the crude punk that could be heard on their debut Sven Jerrings rost and sure I wouldn’t mind if they had released couple of more records in that vein but it was as high energy pop band they sounded the best.
Solglasögon är en jävligt barnslig grej det kan aldrig bli någonting mellan dig och mig.

Hmmmm? Started with the B side first…tic toc, tic toc…got up grabbed some clothes, headed to the shower. “Chick e Chacka, Chick e Chacka” was blaring through the house. Took my shower, dried off…”Chick e Chacka, Chick e Chacka…hmmm…the song is still playing! Got dressed, mowed my lawn, came into the house…”Chick e Chaka, Chick Chaka…holy shit, the song is still playing! Pushed stop. I think the song should be a little longer…this is pretty bad. Thanks.

Actually, the first two Lp’s by Docent Död are quite good regular pop-albums. Every now and again they let off steam and produce some more songs in the same fashion as “Solglasögon”

@ Jay. To fully comprehend the total brilliance of Chick e chack you have to be born and bred in Sweden. Sorry but that´s the way it is. You can compare the lyrics with…hmmm Ah!! I know it!! James Joyce!! Yeah… ever heard of him? I must say I´m allergic to songs that is long as ragas. Not in this case, no.

I didn’t mean to offend anyone…I was trying to be humorous. Chick e Chack…all night long.

@Jay You didn´t offend. I tried to be funny too. Internet humour is a tricky thing indeed.

Not bad!
September 11th, 2007 at 5:25 am
Eh, you can say want you want about Joppes voice but Solglasögon is written and sung by Zebo, a true musical genious that unfortenately got lost quite early in his carrier. And I think Larry Lorry sings on Sven Jerrings röst.
September 11th, 2007 at 5:39 am
If that’s Zebo singing all credits go to him. In the biography’s I’ve read it mostly state Joppe Vocals/Guitar and Zebo Bass/Vocals so I assumed Zebo did the backing vocals. Thanks for the info.

HA! Bra skiva tycker jag, tror jag. Men halla: “Now I’m confused I haven’t posted Crude SS.” !!!! I AM CONFUSED TOO! Ho ho ho.
September 12th, 2007 at 4:49 am
Maybe I shall post something by Dia Psalma? Or maybe not. I don’t think I’ll ever post the flexi by RT here. Maybe some unreleased recordings some day but I’m not too interested in my past bands. That label who release all these old swedish material looks a bit hmm what shall I call it? crappy? And I’ve made a promise to Max 625 Trash records a long time ago to release the RT discography which will probably never happen due to my laziness.
September 12th, 2007 at 8:41 am
