Peer Pressure – S/T E.P. 7″

This is a re-post from April the 7th 2006. Added more scans, new rips and Here To Here.

Two punks in their earlie 30s making music that sounds like it was played by a bunch of higly talented teen punks. You think this is great? Then you shall hear their cover of “Eve Of Destruction” that is even better then the Dickies version! I’ll post that later on so keep watching. Read Ryan Richardsons track down of this band at

Happy New Year and belated Holiday greetings in general! I have not had time to post any comments for several months unfortunately. “Sound of the 80’s” has always been my favorite track, especially the great drumming on it. The singer always sounded to me like Jerry Lewis or something which adds to the quirkiness and uniqueness of the whole EP. This record was such a total damn mystery for years until Ryan Richardson cracked the case back in the late 90’s and filled in all of the details. The story is very interesting. I know a guy who found a copy of this EP in Connecticut for a dollar many years ago. He also found the Nothing 7″, Ebenezer and the Bludgeons EP and many many others for a few bucks each, but that’s another story…

Welcome back Tony! I’ve tried to post comments on the Punk Business Manager blog but they won’t show up. Maybe they got stuck in the spam section? Happens here now and then.

“That’s why they call em Moms has got to be one of the stupidest songs I have ever heard…

  8. The Flakes // Drummer says:

    “theonlytruepunk” or Jay Thurston ;)?

  9. Tony says:

Hey Flakes//Drummer- ya, I’ve fixed the comments section for my blog so that weird problem shouldn’t happen anymore.

  10. The Flakes // Drummer says:

    Cool Tony :)!

  11. pirateradionut says:

I could listen to “Sound of the ’80s” all day

  12. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Same here! It’s the sound of the 21st century.

Discovered another positive about Peer Pressure. My daughter, who likes a lot of the more synth punk songs on this site, HATES “That’s Why They Call’em Moms.” I can get a great reaction just by quoting it…

Here are two great songs that are like a kbdpunk version of 50s R&B act The Coasters, one annoying track and lastly, a tune that makes them sound like flaming hippies.
