A mystery 7″ that won’t tell you anything about it’s origin, members, label etc. There’s a copy right year: 1980. After some research I found out it’s pre-Code Of Honor! How many members from COH can be found in X-iles I don’t know. Anyone? Of course the California sound is in the grooves. Dreamin-No! is really good. Indecision ain’t too far behind but the pan from left to right or right to left speakers get’s pretty annoying after awhile. A really murky, fuzzy and low budget recording adds to the drama of their dark synth driven punk.

Awkward!
Mustard!
I really don’t like this. I doubt if Jonathin(sp?)was in this band, as he was in Society Dog around that time. As for Mike Fox, he was in the Tools at that time…so, it is either the drummer or bass player that may have been in this horrible band. Or maybe it is COH before they turned hardcore and became political?? I am bored if you can’t tell. Who really cares who is in this band?? Just be grateful that this is their only release!!! :)
I don’t think anyone likes the Pictures…hahahahahaha.
A sides the winner here. Not bad, actually, good use of the noisy synth
I like this very much! Great melodramatic singer. There should be a tag “melodramatic singer” actually. Bands with melodramatic singers are often either super great or crap. Just like COH – when you’re young, you think their opera hardcore is the best thing you ever heard.
Nice choice here! What a unique sounding record- murky and fuzzy are perfect ways to sum it up. I used to have a vinyl copy but sold it on eBay for some quick cash. Both sides are great and keep growing on me over the years but the whiny guitar breaks on “Indecision” have always been the highlight for me. Chuck Warner included that song on one of his Hyped2Death comps about 10 years back.
The a-side is a total winner here, but as you said Peter, the b-side ain’t too far behind.
This was brand new to me, and I actually think I prefer it over the first COH 7″ which I find a bit boring.
Yo Martin! How in the whole island of Hisingen can you think that CoH’s 7″ masterpiece is a bit boring. Get in shamevrau, you naughty boy!
Yeah the first COH 7″ is a bit bouarrriiiinngg. The split with Sick Pleasure is great though.
Dave Chavez was in this band before Sick Pleasure and then Code Of Honor.
Hey I meant to leave a comment on this a few days ago. I like this odd release. Kinda reminds me of a cross between The Screamers and Ultravox for some reason.
Also, I wanted to let you all know that your hard work here and the work of Erich GBM and Joe Stumble has inspired me to start my own music blog. It’s already a really bad addiction…
God to hear, Chuck – and although the music you post ain’t my cup of tea, it’s nice to see you’re investing some writing-time there. That’s how blogs should be, methinks. Good luck with it!
Damn, Erich, I thought you would have at least appreciated The Two Felipes. Oh well. Maybe you’ll like the shitty punk album I did on my four track when I was 17. I just posted it.
Good luck Chuck and always glad to read that some people get inspired to start their own thing. A link will cum.
Better than Code Of Honor!
Hey, I am selling my copy!
