Testors – Together/Time Is Mine 7″

Sonny Vincents first(?) and total classic band the Testors. That they’ve gotten more recognition recently then when they where around doesn’t come as a surprise. Germanys Incognito Records have released some great post humous releases that I highly recommend! Listening to the demos they recorded in 1977 is totally mind blowing. Sonny is still going though I’ve not heard any of his recent stuff. Any good? So here’s Testors sole release with a two tracker that should’ve been a huge hit in my opinion.

Found a short clip on YouTube from an upcoming Testors DVD but what really blowed my away was this clip with Sonny Vincent and the Extremes:

Saw Sonny Vincent (billed as Testors) play at the Chicago Blackout a few years ago. Totally amazing set, Sonny looked and sounded fantastic, and the band backing him (3 guys from Rocket From The Crypt) was great.

That “Complete Recordings 1976-79” double LP/CD that Swami put out is another great posthumous release that’s worth tracking down.

I saw Sonny Vincent play in Bremen, Germany back in April. He was great. He was backed by a few locals and Tim from Zygote.

Damn you! I had that single, bought on a lark ’cause I liked the sleeve, and loved it – especially Time Is Mine, actually, which I ended up playing a cover version of in my first band. Somehow or other the single got lost in one of my many moves, and now I’ve gotta find a replacement…what a great, visceral song. Thanks for posting, great stuff!
