Quizz Kids has been posted here before as they had a song on the Live på Musikverket compilation, but here’s their own EP as well. It was recorded in 1979, which initially made me think it would sound like their demo songs included in this post, but that was not the case. I have no idea what kind of audience they had in mind when they recorded the EP, but my guess is that they were trying to reach a wider audience then just the punks.
Fruitcake is a pretty boring reggae song that sounds a lot like The Clash did on Black Market Clash, while Tomorrow is a great punk smasher. The last track Suicide is a slow acoustic number, which left me totally blank the first time I heard it. None the less it’ grew on me over time, and is now actually my favorite track on the record. Give it a few spins and you’ll see that it’s actually a great song that sounds like it’s about to burst into some wild punk riffing anytime, but never does.
The two demo songs are more traditional punk, where Dax is my favorite, even if Cruising in my daddys car has a great and very stupid sounding chorus. Great and amusing impression of what raggare sounds like, and you can hear the other members laughing in the background if you listen carefully.
