Almost 2 years ago Erich/Good Bad Music posted Switzerlands the Rebels incredible punk explosion:http://www.goodbadmusic.com/2007/10/30/rebels-artificial-insemination-7ep-musk-project-switzerland-1979/. Time for a repost.

“Yesterday I wanted to screw my teacher, but she ran away. The day before I wanted to screw my girl, but she ran away.”. The opening to Mayday and how well they describe a situation just too common, at least to me. Accompanied with a super fuzzy and distorted wall of sound they manage to get their message through better then let’s say Abba’s Fernando. In Mental Disaster they cross their outrageous punk with powerpop like keyboards ala Dickies. Works perfect. Sweet Society touch the subject of jealousy, a subject we swedes living with socialism for decades are way too familiar with, coupled with some jamaican sounding drum sound effects in the intro. Works perfect. Three tracks. All winners. One of the best punk records from Europe ever.

  5. Kount Jizznack says:

Truly good stuff from the Confederacion of Helvetica. I think I need to seek out Bloodstains Across Switzerland.

  6. Ian says:

Knulla! Mayday is a killer! THAT is the kind of punk I like! Exclamation!

  7. Levi Johnston says:

Erich deserves credit for turning me on, as the expression goes, to this record, but thanks for posting it again. The Mayday hollering in the background, the weird lyric “I have great power”!? and Ree Violence chasing what looks to a city boy like a rhinocerous makes for great record. Great! Great! Great! (Forgive the repetition, but from experience threesomes are always fun.)

  8. Hard Tail says:

Def. not the best Swiss punk record, just a good one!

  9. Erich says:

Fear Of God was a christian project. We (four altar boys) formed the band to subliminally spread the word of God (praise) through total noise. We’re proud to say we converted many! And no, I never said that REBELS are or were “Punk Rock”.

  10. Nathan G says:

    Shredds!!
