How many songs were written about disco freaks in the late 70s/ early 80s? Shit loads of course, but not too many of them by bands from places further north than Boden where these guys hailed from. The band took their name from the fortress that was built to protect Sweden from the horrible Russians and the even worse Norweigans, who still today wants to take over our pretty social democratic idyll and turn it into an oil-loving vassal state of their corrupted king, Harald the 5th. Thanks to Bodens fastning we will stand strong and refuse to sing “Ja, vi elsker dette landet”.

The b-side sucks, but the drummers kick drum technique suck even more.

To save you some time on commenting Jay I thought I should help you with a comment on this on.

This is the worst shit ever posted here
    This sucks horse ass
My wife, and I, hates this shit
or maybe just a simple, This SUCKS!!!

  2. Erich says:

I think it’s great that you keep posting all these records nobody likes, Martin. It’s a punk thing of you to do and a great of documenting the incredibly fruitful swedish music scene of the 70s and 80s.

The music itself – well, that’s a different kettle of fish, haha.

  3. Martin says:

    Haha,

it’s always fun to annoy the people who lurch here, and as commentors at other blogs have already pointed out, both me and Peter makes loads of $$$ from it as well;)

Pretty funny as well that the Pictures 7″ I posted some time ago that most ppl seemed to hate recently popped up on the Total-Pop LP (http://www.shit-fi.com/reviews/total-pop). Some people just can’t separate good music from bad…

Who knows, maybe Bodens Fastning, the Jumpers and the Badboll EP will appear on volume 2 of the Total-Pop series in the future. If so, I’ll laugh even harder on my way to the bank.

  4. Monger says:

the A side is awful also.
The B side immediatly calls to mind that cover of the Raspberries song “tonight” done by Motley Crue as a outtake off their first album (now once again “available” on the CD reissue).

  5. Peter says:

  6. Jay Thurston says:

Wow! This is a pretty good record. The A side is incredible and the B side is good, because of the power guitar chords!! I will be looking to buy this one if I can find it. Thanks for the great post!!

  7. Levi Johnston says:

Thankfully Martin is documenting the music of a specific country (warts and all–but generally worth hearing), and I wish such a site existed for all countries. Homo globalists can lick the genitals of Sarkozy (or Carla Bruni, for you annoying breeders/lesbos). Children & Lesbians=Nazis.

  8. The Flakes // Drummer says:

Manniskor av plast is a phenomenal track! Sa far det forbli sounds like a not so good track by Snowstorm. Thanks Martin.

    Innvader Norge!

    • Martin says:

Hahaha, well said. Makes no sense that the fortress was meant to protect Sweden from Norway, but that was acually one of the reasons why they built it. You should start a band and cover Andrew Box & the Shames Kom hit Sovjet, but change the lyrics into Kom hit Sverige.

      • Martin says:

Norway had some great punk bands as well, especially Borres Kork who are pretty outstandnig.

  10. Some other guy called Martin says:

    What the b-side is metal?!
Oh man, I like metal. I’m so ashamed!
