Here’s another one of those early Swedish almost punk releases that I know Erich will love. The raw and great production makes me wonder if it’s even possible to be more almost punk than this!

New Bondage did 3 7inches that are all pretty great in my opinion before they decided that it was more fun to sing in Swedish and changed their name to TT Reuter who did one great 7″ that was posted here when this site was still young and fresh. As I’m sure trumPeter won’t let me do a repost of that 7″ I demand him to do it soon!

I bought this record in 1980 and gave it to someone…I wish I had it today. Not bad

  2. Levi Johnston says:

Beyond an expertise when it comes to those things that are the enemy of the proletariat (banking and wristwatches), what do the Swiss know?

Though the intro on the A-side sounds like the opening of a bad AC/DC song that I remember from visiting my hick parents in the late 80s, the rest is pretty cool, lethargic rock and roll–but, yes, I concede to the strict parameters of a Mondrian, who albeit from elsewhere strikes me as the embodiment of a Swissman, that this is indeed almost punk.

  3. Erich says:

All the Swedes in Swaziland look really swiss, don’t they.

Will check this out as soon as I have time, Peter!!

  4. Erich says:

Wow, I really like this. The first song is sooooo cool!!

  5. justin says:

Two sweet 7″s in a row (a description of the two guys who contribute to this site), one obvious and one a little more obscure. “Opening of a bad AC/DC song” and “Swedes in Swaziland look really swiss”, what else is there to say? Rockin!

  6. b e h j a n says:

not in the category of TT REUTER´s “I nu ti mig” 7″ but that´s no shame hor NEW BONDAGE as that 1st (?) TT R 7″ is a high-light (both sides of it IMO).I share Erich´s comment that the 1st song of the NEW BONDAGE here is so cool and a record-label named CBSS-ahah :)

  7. Ian says:

    BAD BOOGIE.

Sorry Martin, but where are you even getting the “almost” for this one?!
TT Reuter record is better, but not by a lot.

  8. sir hake says:

  9. marge says:

  10. Sounds a bit like the original 70′s Cocksparrer when they were an almost-punk band themselves.

  11. In my opinion, TT Reuter was one of the most interesting developments from the punkscene ever to hit swedish ears.

I bougt it when it came and I’ loved i’t. Even though i lIved/live in Sweden,Stockholm and was in the “punkscene”,and all my money was turned into mostly british bands singles,so was I trying to get an another copy of the “New Bondage” single because my copy had some scratches, but even after a couple of year when i became friend with one of the band, I never managed to get my copy. And all my 1500 singles went in to my arm, when I “took the big prize” and found my meaning of life:Smack…Now i’ts all ok,but hearing that superrecord was amazing. We can’t have simular taste-lucky us,but for me I’ts very special. Great site btw-thanks!
