This unknown gem will probaly make a bunch of you scream and hide under a rock as it’s well produced mod/power pop that sounds very British. Maybe not too surprising as two of the members moved to Sweden from the UK/Ireland after they met some nice blonde ABBA look-a-likes from Stockholm. Both these guys (Billy and John) played in 2760, who had 2 great songs on the Let it out comp LP and released a pretty good 12″ before they joined forces with Pelle from Raketerna to start Crash!.
Alright on the night sounds like a cheesy heavy metal title, and sort of sounds like a mod version of a cheesy heavy metal song as well. I kind of like it, but the bee’s knee’s is the killer on the B-side, Top billing. The drums in the intro got me hooked the same second I heard it for the first time, and since then it’s been stuck in my head. Give it a spin and you’ll see that it’s even better than the Jumpers!

Not hard. The Jumpers suck!
And ‘Alright On The Night’ sounds HM for a reason: it lifts its ENTIRE opening/riff from Boston’s ‘Peace Of Mind!’
It is shit!
The opening of Top Billing sounds so promising and here comes the vocalist and destroys the whole thing. Too bad. Could’ve been a top notch track with another vocalist. The chorus is really strong.
Agree with Jay on the A-side and with Peter on the B-side.
I like it!
