Mops – Manen/Herr Bergstrom 7″

My copy of the Mops second 7″ looks like it was found in a dumpster, but as it plays perfect I never bothered to update it to a better looking copy until a few months ago when I saw a copy on Ebay. As I bought this copy for about a dollar or two, I expected that it was still cheap as fuck, but was shocked when I saw that it ended on over $100! I sure didn’t see that coming when I put my bid on $12 and expected to pay less.Thank your lucky star that you’ll get the music for nothing and chicks for free here instead.

IMHO the B-side, that is some kind of cover of a Simon & Garfunkel song, is the real deal on this one, even if the A-side ain’t too shabby either. I guess I prefer Herr Bergstrom as it was included on The roots of Swedish pop compilation that was released in 1995 or 96, and served as my first introduction to the band.

Now get on your scooter and ride Peter!

Have a hard time choosing a fave here. Both tracks just RIPS! Killer record. Sure makes me want to take my scooter for a ride. And soon it’s doable, just a little bit of snow left.

Two great songs, I love hearing great music for the first time. “Herr Bergstrom” gets the nod from me, but I like both of them. Thanks for this!

This is cool Mod-Pop! Jonas – the guitarplayer of Mops later (mid/late 1980´s) became the guitarist of one of Sweden´s biggest Sleaze-rock bands – Glorious Bankrobbers. They did a Livealbum from CBGB´s, among other stuff ;-)

  8. Urrke T says:

Also Olle was the singer in Glorious Bankrobbers. As well as on one album by similar Norwegian Sleaze-Punksters Backstreet Girls.
