The Infections – S/T 7″

This might be the perfect 7inch for me cause it brings together the best of two worlds which actually was just kind of one world back you know when. I’m Not Funny is a surprisingly megaduperfantastic snotty punk hit that should’ve been on one of the KBD comps but might’ve not been “discovered” back then by Mr. Kugelberg? BUT it should’ve been included on the deleted “Hooked on Junk” which reminds me that I once again can push for Tony’s not so frequently-updated-site-but-when-he-does-he-delivers-like-no-one-else Punk Business Manager: http://punkbusinessmanager.com/2009/08/07/hooked-on-junk-unreleased-lp.aspx. So one world is Punk and the other world is of course Powerpop. Girls In Magazines is flawless: hooks, check, great lyrics about anarchy and war, nope, ok then it must be great.

  1. You rule for posting this Infections 7″!! Thanks, I needed a better rip of the A-side. And now I can finally hear the B-side too. If anyone had a vinyl copy and posted this I knew it would be you! Every time I drive past the Infections’ hometown area of Grand Rapids, Michigan en route to Detroit I am tempted to get off and search local record stores for a spare copy of their 7″!

Thanks for the very kind words about my blog, Peter! Nice of you to say. Yeah, I need to update it more but, goddamit, it has been a busy stretch this whole year for me.

Alright another step on my path to MP3 masterhood. Anybody got the Crucified EP from ’77? Hmmmm I think that would be a great posting, yes indeed!

  4. I’ve got some rips of the Crucified EP, I’ll put it in my posting queue.

    • The Flakes // Drummer says:

Yes, please take care of that Tony. Never liked the Crucified 7″ as far as I recall. Nice sleeve though.

  5. Roberto says:

Terrific record, amazing sound. Love it!!

  6. Martin says:

    Instant killer!

  7. Ya, the Crucified sleeve is one of my favorites of all time but the only killer track out of the 4 songs on it is the one that was on KBD #8.5 (“Let The Kids Play”). What a whopper of a song. But that guy who commented above (Brian C) is itching to hear it- I think he posted a comment on another posting of yours saying he wanted to hear it.

  8. DLO says:

Who is Mr Kugelberg? Sounds like an old Hebrew school teacher.

  9. Erich says:

HORRIBLE! The singer sucks sooo bad. Definitely not a 200$+ record, if you ask me ……. But thanks for posting. :D

  10. roger m. says:

friggin great record. 500 dollars. easy.

  11. Danny says:

KILLER! That´s why KBD is my favorite punk blog: quality rips, big scans and just when you thought you heard ém all the magician pulls out another rabbit. THANK YOU!

  12. John says:
