Really Red – Modern Needs 7″

Another record that’s been blogged all over but since it’s Really Red you know it needs to be just everywhere, including this blog. And correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t they still way underrated? Maybe cause you couldn’t pin point them as a pure HC or punk rock band considering the variety in their discography? Not nearly up there with their first “Crowd Control” or their fourth “New Strings…” but way better then their third live EP “Despise Moral Majority” and a classic in it’s own right. Both songs shreds and the sleeve is just fantastic. I miss the rare insert so if anyone got a scan to send I would more then grateful.

Good post, though I think you could have stepped up the writing a bit. The lyric “not just survival I need” is a veritable invitation to critique the “fascistic ‘nature v. man’ topos” that’s I’ve read is pervasive in the contemporary scene. I would write the critique myself but I am busy documenting the impact of robot literature on the minds of teenagers during the inter-war years. (No offense to anyone, I simply suffer wiseguy DNA!)

Not sure if it’s the rip or my shitty headphones but the guitars have never sounded louder (ie. better). Thanks.

The Touch & Go review for this is hilarious. TV and DS kinda nail it.
