Snare And The Idiots – Recycled Garbage E.P. 7″

Snare & the Idiots were a back to basics punk band from Newport, Kentucky who made a lot of noise during the hardcore era. Because they were alive after the so-called Killed By Death years, they unfortunately get overlooked. They released one great 7” in 1985 and disappeared. This is their story. —SS”

Snare and The Idiots were a way cool band I had the pleasure of seeing many times in the mid-80s Cin-Ky punk scene. Yes, there was a very good punk “movement” back in those days. Saw many local and worldwide bands at the Jockey Club. Used to roll big fatties by the sound board. Talked to Shorty many times on slow nights. A true punk palace if ever there was one. If you could piss in the men’s room at the JC without gagging, then you could piss anywhere! Thanks for rekindling the memories, Snare. N-Ky bands were really special at a time when mainstream music sucked as much as ever.

Snare And The Idiots just recorded three new songs to be released SOON in a digital format and hopefully eventually on vinyl. This one’s gonna be a scorcher.Hope to record an album of new songs and release our massive catalogue of 80’s songs in the very near future Including the original version of “Slam Bang” later made known by Nine Pound Hammer. Look for it. Check our Facebook page for updates. We’re back!
