V/A – SF Underground E.P. 7″

I think this is the first non swedish compilation 7inch I bought. I remember I dug No Alternative A LOT. Now I find their song on here quiet dull. Sounds almost worse then Social Distortion. Flipper are cool, no doubt about. But is it good? No. I like the idea of Flipper but their music have never done much for me except Sex Bomb. The b-side is what really makes this record a keeper. Tools is forgiven for their obvious Ramonish rip off guitar playing when they’re able to crank out such a hit like “Asexuality in the 80s”. VKTMS closes the platter and does it with this records high light.

more comps please!!! always loved this VKTMs track – made the whole ep a winner!

  3. Dewey Decimal says:

All four tracks are winners here in my opinion, but Tools have the definite “hit.”

Wow !! Great posts recently — this is an absolute gem of an EP, – I want to own it.

This is a interesting comp. I agree on No Alternative; their cut is boring to death. The “Make Guns Not Love” 7″ is a nice one, though. Flipper is one of my faves, to me everything they did is amazing. Everything except for “Eartworm”, which is by far their worst track. Tools are your average late 70’s american punk rock band, but pretty good, while the VKTMS are simply AMAZING! They make this little vynilfor sure. Thanks for posting and sorry for being pretty late on this one. :-)
