I might be wrong here, but I think this band had a member from Chainsaw that was posted here a looong time ago, and that the same guy also played with Streets, who did a great split 7″ with X-plosion on the Romantik label in 1978.

Musically this ain’t as tough as you might expect from a Belgian band, but rather well produced and really tight, in the vein of Veel (that Tony posted some time ago) even though Contingent don’t come up to the same super high standard. Thankfully all four tracks are in French, despite what the titles might mislead you to believe. As far as I know this is the band’s only release, and they appeared on a bunch of those Bloodstains across Begium/ Bloody Belgium etc comps.

I have to do as Headcleaners and do some washing right now so this text ends here.

  1. After listening to the first track “Police Control” I planned to move on to another web-page for my night-surfing. However, deciding to listen to the second track it got better from there. So I had to write something, and I did.

Agree, Police Control is the weakest track, so I guess it was meant to be the hit, concidering how many times they sing the chorus.

Fuck, I just realized I forgot to upload the insert with the lyrics for those who want to sing along.

  3. Chano says:

The sound is a bit thin and the guitar would need a little more distortion but, hell, let’s not be picky and enjoy it for what it is: a good punk rock 7″. In my eyes the best cut is “Violence”. The refrain is so freakin’ catchy!! Thanks, Martin.

  4. Charlie M says:

Unlikely though it sounds the bass player was Atilla The Stockbroker. They reformed a few years ago in fact.

Speaking of Belgium: i’ve just found this, http://youtu.be/l-HCh7JMQ3g i know it’s hard to believe but this was ACTUALLY recorded and released around 1973!!!
