Ah he takes the easy way out? Yeah I do. Gotta keep the blog going, right? Surprised I hadn’t posted this hands down classic before. Amazing guitar sound that sounds like a bee hive. Stupid lyrics. Cool sleeve picturing nice guys that couldn’t bother about the stereotyped punk look though the guy on the left sports some new wave specs and striped shirt. Every song is a winner. Yeah even the more mellow 60s flavored Summertime cause Rich Parson got an amazing voice. Don’t miss the rock star solo in there.

A must have for any KBD collection!

Richard Hell and Thurston Moore had a project they did in the 90s called Dim Stars. While the music was not to my taste, they made a ripping cover of “The Plug”. Richard Hell’s vocals are so much more compelling, but his band cant match that buzzsaw sound of The Axe (they do a competent job though)…

Well, except for “They Saved….”, which is a full on Punk Rock ripper, this ep in its entirety got a strong 60’s Garage-Punk feel, i’d say. And that’s not a bad thing at all!! It’s nice to hear some hooks under the rough surface. “The Plug” is especially good under that aspect. Thanks for the high quality rips, as usual. :-)

    Hiya
I can’t tell from your photo but is the back of the sleeve cut in half or is it a full sealed down sleeve
    Thanks
    Pauline
