Waste – History Repeats E.P. 7″

2015. Signs all over Europe makes me think of the title of the first track. Politics aside this is a new discovery to me thanks to Niels/Gepopel. Reminds in many ways of another dutch band: Brommers. And just as Brommers, Waste also reminds me a bit of danish Sods. The fucked up chorus guitar sound ads a nervous touch which I like a lot. There’s one track you can skip: Brain Wash the rest are great. You may hear that Blue Light sounds a bit weird. I listened to another rip on Youtube and it sounds the same so I assume it’s a pressing flaw: Punk Rock.

Great record, I thank you Peter for pointing it out for me some time back! I prefer the a-side in general, less hc-influenced, but the b-side is ok as well.

  2. Chano says:

I really like this ep. It got a powerful drive and a weird edge which i dig a lot. And don’t listen to Peter when he says to skip on “Brain Wash” cuz that’s a rad one. Cheers! ;-)

  3. Golag Denogo says:

This records depict perfectly when “punk” started become generic and way less interesting. It’s comparable to UK82 bands. Average music but the intent behind it is to homogenized for my taste. Thanks for the post!
