From the dark woods of black metal, burning churches and Fleksnes comes this crude and amateurish punk rock oil dripping piece. Clever London Houses would’ve been more talked about if it was released by a UK band I guess. It’s so goddamn catchy. Compared to the b-side you hear that the kids really dig what they’re playing. They keep the song together by pure will. So it sounds to me at least. The b-side is boring, boring, boring. Long, slow and uninteresting. Sure it sounds like punk did in the head of the people who weren’t into it.

Koskenkorva, knifes, sauna, pimples, lakes, forests and a strange and harsh language pretty much sums up Finland/Soumi to me plus a couple of great punk and hardcore bands. Here’s the debut from Lama. I’ve posted their second and third releases a long time ago. Guess they need to be reposted.

I’ve been to the twin cities Saint Paul/Minneapolis in Minnesota for a week and I’m pretty fucked up now. Need some rest. Just want to post something so you guys and girls don’t go nuts.

Teen Line is pretty much one of the greatest songs in the history of powerpoop. With members from and related to acts like The Orbits, Lubricants and Haskels. Yeah yeah I read all this here: Shivvers. Considering the Teen Line is almost a perfect crafted pop song it’s no wonder Teen Line gave name to a whole series compiling obscure powerpop released by Chucks Hyped To Death label.

While Teen Line is just pop the flip When I Was Younger leans more to a later version of The Avengers and may be more in favor to the pure punk fascist, but I doubt it.

Next time I’ll post some White Power Pop that I recently discovered. Instead of singing about how they shall kill all the jews like your average White Power band the whole White Power Pop scene got a different angle: they’ll hugh the inferior races to death. Sure it’s killing but it’s a far more sympathetic way of killing. How came I had you read this rubbish? Don’t ask me.

Oh no! The Swedes are involved again. This time it’s Eric Lindgren who lent his minimoog to Elektraflesh in 1980. I’m glad he did cause Broken Trust is a pulsating and danceable hit. The lyrical content would fit any emo band today except they wouldn’t blame the mass media for their broken relationship. Take note that Phil in Plash took the photo of the front sleeve. Ejected Rejected seems to be a beloved song among the synth fans but I can hardly stay awake for more then 30 seconds into it.

This might not be that interesting to all the Swedes out there since Solglasogon was played to death by the swedish radio. Still today it can be heard from now and then. Regardless it’s one of the most brilliant powerpop songs to emerge out of Sweden both musically and lyrically.

Joppe Philgren got a perfect sarcastic and snotty voice. It’s a giant step from the crude punk that could be heard on their debut Sven Jerrings rost and sure I wouldn’t mind if they had released couple of more records in that vein but it was as high energy pop band they sounded the best.

Somebody Help Me is the same version as on the Charred Remains compilation tape posted some months ago. But of course it sounds way better on vinyl. I think this is the best Toxic Reasons 7inch coupled with God Bless America. LP wise they never out did the master piece Kill By Remote Control posted by Eric.

Their debut Independence is good but dosen’t hold up in the long run. Both the tracks on here can also be heard on Independence and togheter with Mercenary and Drunk And Disorderly it’s the best bunch. Talking about Drunk And Disorderly I’m pretty hung over today so I better stop.

A classic swedish powerpop/punk 7inch from the band that later became Perfekt Alibi(thanks Senap!). I’m Down got that boggie feel to it that is just on the right side of the border of not being totally crap. You got some porridge? You haven’t? Ahh the singer Hakan just ate it all! Listen to his marvelous love it or hate it voice.

Another one of those “One of the best swedish punk records ever”. Born in the same suburb of Stockholm as Ebba Gron: Ragsved. Most of the Stockholm bands where of course known in most parts of Sweden but it wasn’t until the TV Eye // Drummer introduced me to them a couple of years ago that I heard and heard about them for the first time.

If the first track Arabien would’ve been released today they would’ve easily ended up on some militant muslims death list. It’s just an ordinary anti religion song though Islam is used as the subject and not Christianity as in the majority of punk rock songs.

Maybe you’ve heard Corporate Food on the infamous,and probably one of the most important US punk compilations ever: Let Them Eat Jellybeans. But what strucked me is that I really needed to hear Corporate Food again but this time in it’s original format to be able to fully appreciate its greatness. I can’t even remember hearing it on LTEJ. Probably I thought it was too fucked up or something to like it back then. But today my kids I have to say it’s one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time. So wacky. So much “fuck you” attitude it hurts lies buried in this masterpiece. The guitar solo brings Geza X to mind for some reason. Sounds so controlled yet like he couldn’t care less if it would fit. Amazing.

Snake Attack is far from Corporate Food. Put on your Residents/Snakefinger ears. I happen to like it. Strange. But as I put it on it hypnotize me and I just sit there through the whole song listening to it.

You know LTEJ was released by Alternative Tentacles which reminds me to remind you about The Eat contest that’s going on. Loads of emails are coming in and so far I’ve picked one winner. Keep ‘em coming.
