Back to the States. X-X debut. Not as “accessible” as You’re full of shit from their first record posted some months ago. But just as great in my opinion. No Nonsense is monotone and demented with fantastic improvised drums which is fun and quiet easy to achieve to this kind of stuff as you know if you’re a drummer yourself. Approaching the minimal with spray guns is my favorite track with X-X. Yeah it’s even “better” then You’re full of shit and if you don’t agree you’re just full of shit. Art punk at it’s best. Thank you Cleveland.

From London came the queen of cool, miss Stef Petticoat, who released this magnificent jewel in 1980 before she moved to Berlin where she kept running the band for quite some time, and might still be doing it in one way or another today. Apart from this E.P. she appeared on several different compilations as well as other 7inches that are all well worth tracking down.

So much more can be said about The Petticoats, but as I’m running a bit late here I have to stop right now, but feel free to share your comments about this very inspirational lo-fi classic in the comment section.

Someone Like You get’s my vote for one of the Top 10 best powerpopers ever written. I’m somewhat glad that I got hold of it when I’m older cause I’m sure the song would’ve wasted a lot of my time as a teen. A constant repeater. The vocals on Hey! sounds like Leonard from The Dickies entered the studio and the song is solid and leans more to the punkier side of pop. Better is not for the faint of heart. A slow but great song in my book that sounds like a more straight forward Sparks ditty. Fantastic vocals all the way. Thank you and hope you celebrated the midsummer the swedish way: getting pissed, pull herring up your nose and then some lousy fucking.

Stryker – S/T 7″

For those few unlucky bastards who knows me can tell that this records is so much I. Powerpop with hooks to die for that can be spun over and over again. It’s so ridiculous great that I don’t know what to say so I’ll end it here and let those who knows anything about Stryker fill us in in the comment section. Before I leave you I just want to make sure you take a good look at the front sleeve. Is it Uri Geller standing to the left? If so I’m sure he used his magic on these two tracks. The rest of the boys looks good too but wait… a dude in handcuffs! What has he done? Arrested for looking cool?

Disco Zombies – Here Come The Buts/Mary Millington 7″

The third and last release from The Disco Zombies shows a new, minimal direction for the band (and once again killer art work), and might just fit here right after Kitchen & the Plastic Spoons. Here come the buts don’t really do it for me as it drags on for too long, but the b-side song about the Great rock n’ roll swindle celebrity Mary Millington sure does as it’s way catchier. I think good old Mary was in a few other movies as well, but I’m sure all you older UK blokes here remember her best from the Sex Pistols cash-in flick, right?

A short post about long songs for people with short attention span.
