Oh Canadu. Joining Minutemen(USA) and Seems Twice(Australia) The Presence blows off some arty punk steam in the same vein. A couple of fillers but enough great tracks to make it worth a post. I wish I knew something about these comrades but as google gives me near to nothing I place my hope in you the readers/downloaders. Packed in a nice envelope sleeve(just as another Canadian band The Braineaters posted awhile ago) but is hellish to store.

The Reactions – Love You E.P. 7″

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Repost from April 27th, 2006 . Added more scans and new rips of all the songs.

Here’s one for all lovers of melodic punk rock. Floridas The Reactions extremly sought after second 7inch is good but not great. “Marianne” is the standout track. I know that japanese collectors will go ape shit over this record so if you’ll have something nice to trade I might part with it. For some info about The Reactions click here.

Crash! – Alright On The Night 7″

Friday, February 19th, 2010

This unknown gem will probaly make a bunch of you scream and hide under a rock as it’s well produced mod/power pop that sounds very British. Maybe not too surprising as two of the members moved to Sweden from the UK/Ireland after they met some nice blonde ABBA look-a-likes from Stockholm. Both these guys (Billy and John) played in 2760, who had 2 great songs on the Let it out comp LP and released a pretty good 12″ before they joined forces with Pelle from Raketerna to start Crash!.

Alright on the night sounds like a cheesy heavy metal title, and sort of sounds like a mod version of a cheesy heavy metal song as well. I kind of like it, but the bee’s knee’s is the killer on the B-side, Top billing. The drums in the intro got me hooked the same second I heard it for the first time,  and since then it’s been stuck in my head. Give it a spin and you’ll see that it’s even better than the Jumpers!

Mamma mia. I’m tired. Really tired. But a shemale got to do what a shemale got to do. I have a blog and I have to work on it. So what’s the deal with Jemmy Leggs? You tell me cause I don’t have a clue. There’s four songs. Two of them sucks on daddys bone and the other two don’t. Now you may think that suck on daddys bone is a good thing. It might be. In this case it’s not. The two utterly awesome songs are Blindate and Fireworks. They rule. The other two don’t rule. They suck. End of story.

TBC – Live E.P. 7″

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

The second E.P. from these long hairs was released 3 years after it was recorded, and a few years after the band broke up/ mutilated into The Pinheads as well. No big surprises here if you’ve heard the first one that was posted here earlier as this is more almost punk with some standard 70’s mustache boogie influences added. Personally I love the song “Nakna brudar” as well as nakna brudar, but the rest ain’t really too bad either if you ask me. Ratt till jobb (very amusing title after removing the dots from the letter “ä”) is a Chelsea cover of course as TBC were as lazy as The Pinheads when it came to writing songs. On the other hand a lot of Swedish bands started their “career” by doing covers of UK and US bands, but with new lyrics. Remember “God save Fälldin” by KSMB, which is a brilliant title for a punk song. Too bad they never recorded it as I’m sure it was a great song, just like their version of The Who’s “My generation” translated into “Torbjorns horor” that can be found on an otherwise shitty MNW compilation from 1979.
