This is a re-post from July the 26th 2006. Added more scans, new rips and Star Struck.

Once again I have to thank the worlds best expert on 70’s porn and obscure 70’s punk from the UK: Steve/Low Down Kids for revealing the Jakpak on the famous LDK boot series(rest in peace). AWESOME punk/powerpop at it’s finest. James at Worthless Trash also posted this in his first redesigned podcast. Check out his new killer concept at www.worthless-trash.blogspot.com.

So Steve, what is there to know about Jakpak? I couldn’t find anything on this thing we call the World Wide Web.

Inspired by Good Bad Erich’s recent posts of a bunch of tapes I decided to jump the bandwagon.

From whom and when I got this tape I can’t exactly recall. Mid to early 80’s for sure. And from someone in Canada without a doubt. This tape has been very dear to me ever since. Too bad I didn’t make a straight copy of it back then. As you can hear it have been played quiet a lot and on top of that the recording is very low fi which of course only makes it better. Here’s a good recipe to make HC sound great: add chainsaw guitars, machine gun drums and some decent song writing. That’s what Manic Depressors did and as you can hear it worked great. Please if you know anything about this band fill us in.

GBG Sound - Bjorn Borg 7″

January 5th, 2008 by The Flakes // Drummer

gbgsound_bjorn_label_a.jpggbgsound_bjorn_label_b.jpg

This is a re-post from March the 23rd 2006. The first record we posted here actually. Added more scans and a new rip.

Bjorn Borg! You haven’t made a descent thing in your life! A somewhat swenglish translation of the famous chorus that I was huming on a lot as a kid. It felt so good cause I generally hated all kind of sports. GBG Sound or Göteborg Sound was of course from Gothenburg. Compared to bands in Stockholm the Gothenburg bands had more of a “progg” feeling and weren’t so punk in their outfits. No studs, leather jackets or mohawks.

The Bjorn Borg 7″ was a self released one sided ditty pressed in 200 copies. No sleeve just the ugly face of Bjorn on the label. Now download.

This is a re-post from April the 7th 2006. Added more scans, new rips and Here To Here.

Two punks in their earlie 30s making music that sounds like it was played by a bunch of higly talented teen punks. You think this is great? Then you shall hear their cover of “Eve Of Destruction” that is even better then the Dickies version! I’ll post that later on so keep watching. This is a re-post from April the 4th 2006. Added more scans, new rips and Vild i skogen(he he that track ain’t that bad after all).

Sweden had some of the best punk bands in the 70’s beginning of the 80’s. Here’s just ONE example of many to prove it. Dr. Zeke only released this master piece then dissapeared. “Aldrig Do” have been living on diffrent comps during the years though and recently swedens Heart Attacks covered it.

The Pagans - S/T 7″

January 1st, 2008 by The Flakes // Drummer

pagans_six_label_a.jpgpagans_six_label_b.jpg

So atonal, amateurish and damn great. Two chords and the talent to sing out of tune. You didn’t need more then that to form your very own punk rock band. And The Pagans realized that. Can’t think of a single record released in 1977 that sounds more PUNK then this. You know in the sense how it was portrayed in the media and conceived by the masses. The Pagans released some seven inches after this that where miles better but then again concidering it was done in 1977 all by themself…

I’ve added a couple of new links! Sorry for letting you guys wait. I’ve also received a couple of mails that showed up when I visited my webmail but when at home trying to download them they’ve mysteriously vanished. If you know you need an answer please write again.

stains_label_a.jpgstains_label_b.jpg

The fact that this was posted 1 year ago over at Good Bad Erich needs to be celebrated with this repost including all the scans. As you all know Stains moved to SF and became MDC.

One of my highlights in my career as the drummer for Swedens Raped Teenagers was when we opened up for MDC in Stockholm 1987. MDC came in and was all over the place except for Dave that I was able to talk a little to and seemed mentally stable and physically fit. The bass player kept asking for pot and was one hell of a guy when it came to yoga. I was amazed at how he could bend his legs when he did some yoga right before the gig. They where also very supportive and told us we kicked ass. We had our bald headed, skinny violinist Lachen with us that didn’t seem to be appreciated by all the studs and mohawks punk. But we rocked and left them with an impression that you can use violin in HC if you want to.

It’s a new year coming and remember that we all where born to die!!!

This is a re-post from April the 3rd 2006. Added more scans, new rips, Paddedd Cell and Tumor Boy.

There’s no doubt that these punk rockers are mentally ill. How well they capture it in this fuzzy buzzy manic sing along punk rock anthem. Where are the psychos in punk nowadays? Recommendations? No not The Spits I don’t like them.

This is a re-post from April the 21th 2006. Added more scans, new rips and I Wanna Be A Cowboy. Got a sleeve now. Please let me know if this sounds better then the old rips since I’m using some new gear.

No, Rob Noxious(Guy Robert at eBay: lewdsnot, zoloft_anaconda,thingsdogsdo) didn’t give me a sleeve to this one either. If anyone have a 150dpi scan to hand over to me that would be higly appreciated. So the sleeve is once again taken from Henry Welds American Punk Discography. Hope you hear Ians voice when I say: “Thanks Henry!”. What about Buck Byron? You tell me. Haven’t find anything on the Internet. You won’t get the b-side cause it’s not good. It’s a waste of bandwith to have it available.

This is a re-post from March the 27th 2006. Added more scans, new rips and I Wanna Be Your Man. This almost tops The Eat.

Ahhh so intense. Listen to the hi-hat sound. You don’t hear that nowadays. And the clicking sound when hitting the ride cymbal. Add to that the (r)obnoxious “I don’t give a fuck” style of singing and we have a winner. And the way they end the song it sounds like they’re just glad it’s over. The b-side “I Wanna Be Your Man” is a great cover with inspirational vocals.
