Here’s the first 7inch from “Knugen Faller” since “English Paul” so eagerly wanted to hear it. The nod to older swedish punk is most hearable in the title track. It’s great no doubt about it but the chorus is maybe an ode to “Dagens Ungdom”? I’m really fond of Syliva Sates voice. Clear yet agressive. “Knugen Faller” also happens to have some great lyrics so it’s time to learn swedish. “Tot Rocket was formed in 1979 when Ron Spitzer, Andrew Halbreich and Robert Poss, who had played in various blues / rock bands together in high school, ended up moving to East Haven, Connecticut to form a new band.” taken from this page. The blues /rock roots shine through in the extremly bad “Fun Fades Fast In the USA” and should be called “Fun Fades Fast When Spinning This Song” which is slow and even have an harmonica. I always hated harmonica in any musical genre, except Black Metal. The Tot Rockets first 7inch with the amazing “Reduced”. Italys Rave Up have released a discography. Check it out! A boot that I bought some years ago and I’ve forgotten all the info about it. Recorded in 1979 here’s a rawer version of “Hate Me, Hate Me”,and better, then the version on the “Feel So Good” 7inch. The B-Side is so so but “Stingy” is decent. A two CD compilation where released in 2002 I think. Found this: “The Spelling Mistakes managed to get themselves banned from just about every venue in NZ.” so you know they where punk. What strikes me when I rip Swedens finest “Knugen Faller” is that the bass line is the same as one of Raped Teenagers(our old band) old songs “Jag Vill Inte”. But this is of course much better. I was kind of euforic when I first heard “Knugen Faller” thinking “wow at last someone gets IT again”. This is their second 7inch and has members from some more well known swedish bands. No I won’t tell you who they are. In my opinion this is one of the best swedish punk rock 7inches ever made. Country: Sweden Year: 2005 Label: Cage Match/Ny Vag Format: 7″ Songs: Inte som ni.mp3

I might getting old. And I did grow up with this so maybe it’s just me that find this much more inspiring that most punk nowadays. Is it just nostalgia that pulls the right triggers when I watch this? I really hate to become that old wise guy that is moaning about the past beeing much better. What do you young kids think? This clip is from some show in 1977.
In the last post I complained about what a dissapointment The Hates debute 7inch was. So what a suprise it was to get hold of their 1982 12inch E.P. “Panacea”!! A killer? You guessed it! The Hates is still active but with the only original member beeing Christian Arnheiter, in his 50s and now wearing a huge green mohawk. Here’s a snippet from their bio:”Shocked and intrigued by the news of the People’s Temple tragedy in Guyana, (more than 900 of the Reverend Jim Jones’ followers committed mass-suicide) the band made its first gig and live studio recording as “The Guyana Boys Choir”. Read the whole story here! My vote for best track goes to “Science’s Fiction” though it’s a tuff call. Listen to the fantastic scream in “Cut The Shit” in the end of the bridge(1:32):”Here come the forces of evil”. The 7inch version of “No Talk…” was a big dissapointment when I first heard it since I’ve read that it should be such a classic. They should’ve used this rehearsel version instead from 1978.
Another one that I heard over at Steves Low Down Kids some years ago and just had to have. After I got it the TVEye // Drummer told me that he’ve had that one for years but hadn’t played it for a long time since the cover looked like some country and western 7inch. Clive is now a druid. I managed to get hold of him some years ago and he told me a friend of him had a stack of these so he would dig one up and send it to me. I guess Clive found out how rare it was cause he never sent me one. Clive was also in The Sweat that released some decent singles. I love computers! Especially when they crash. I had written a great deal about Peggio Punx and was ready to post when the “thing” decided to freeze totally. Oh well! This one along with the first Declino 7inch posted earlier are among the best mid ’80s italian hardcore EPs. They got a style all of their own these italian maniacs. As I listen to the tracks now I hear some digital pops that you have to live with. You should check out Peggios 12inch over at punkrecords.org. Not a single bad track so you get them all! My pick is “Credi Di…” cause everytime I hear it I see some punk cowboys with their mohawks and studs riding in to anarchy heaven to never be seen again.
I’ve decided to take some tracks away from this posting. If you want to know WHY then read the comments for the Buttocks. And NOW I
‘ve decided to put the tracks back up again now when my lovely friend “NiteOwl” is gone Ho hoho.
